Nothing, but you're wasting your time. There are people here that are completely thrilled with his first 2 seasons for some reason.

I thought he did a good job in his first year considering the circumstances. We got fricked out of the NIT because we have a spineless bitch for an AD. Now last year i thought was a major failure in Jones coaching because of how fricking bad the D was and how the team should have been a bubble tourny team instead of sneaking into the NIT.

This year so far through 3 games it hasn't been pretty and Jones looks to be trending in the wrong direction, sans recruiting.

Martin, Gray, Hornsby and Mickey all have a least one year of D-1 starting experience. LSU is having all of the same problems so far this year that they had last season. Yes, it is only game 3 and there is still time to improve. The problem is that LSU doesn't have much of a safety net. Their OOC schedule is weak, and the SEC isn't a great conf. There aren't going to be a ton of opportunities for "good" wins. They can't afford to struggle in OOC play and lose games while trying to "figure things out". That is exactly what is going to happen if they don't improve in a hurry

Aka..willing to accept X&O mediocrity due to his to date uppercrust level recruiting to a moribund program/platform/poor attendance fanbase..with albeit greatly improved facilities and great future potential.

I hope for JJ's sake going forward that he proves to show growth as a HC, and not end up just a transitional/rebound guy hire between TJ and lofty next level aspiration HC..which granted would require JJ to do quite well to have the platform and gig ready for such hopes.

Don't look now, but if Blakeney signs elsewhere what exactly did Jones do this year on the recruiting trail besides sign David Patrick's godchild?

We have way too much talent to lose to a team like ODU. I feel like we will always be out coached. 4th place is up for grabs in the SEC and we are gonna mess around and finish 9-9 again. It frustrating.
I am not his biggest fan, but this game doesn't lose me. Our offense is better, we just need to learn how to defend against a hot jump shooter. Clearly our "short guards" wasn't the issue. I've been waiting 6 years for Miles to learn how to run an offense, I can give cJJ until midseason to correct this.

Check jones conference records while at north Texas.....his teams got fat on non-conference schools I haven't even heard of.
Crap hire=crap results

I'll check it out. Didn't think that was possible in his conference.

JJ not even close to mediocre, he had plenty of talent to go to the big dance last year and simply did a terrible job. This year he has less talent and LSU will not even go 500 in conf. play.

I think his honeymoon period should be over and fans should expect results. I know he has a lot of support in town but I wonder how long that is going to last.

We don't play as a team. It's just a bunch of individuals out there! "I got the ball! Boom. I'm shooting....and missing." Horrible team offense.

This is the 3rd game of the season and we only return 2 starters. ( really 1 if you don't count Martin) Give it a few games people.

The team is suffering from the same issues as they had all of last season. They are also one of the least physical teams I have seen. All it takes is a few minutes of watching this team's movement on offense to realize that they are poorly coached.

This is unbelievable! They lose one game, a close one at that, and they have the worst team in college basketball. First, ODU is quite good. LSU has new faces and is going to take some time to find its rhythm.

For heaven's sake, Kentucky lost 12 games last year with the best talent in the country, then rolled through the "Big Dance" and almost won it all!

Don't draw any conclusions until we are at least half way through the season.

And don't compare JJ to Miles or the football team. There is no comparison (yet)!

And oh by the way, Gardner-Webb knocked off Clemson tonite. Don't underestimate these mid-conference teams. Some of them are excellent teams. ODU also beat VCU, a regular cinderella in the NCAA tournament!

Do you have have any idea of what you're talking about? Clemson sucks.....so your Gardner Webb excuse doesn't hold water.
Yea, don't compare miles to jones, because unlike miles jones has accomplished zero, he hasn't even taken our team to the big dance. I'll gladly admit I'm wrong, but these guys look flat out lost.

I somewhat agree, Jeff Jones has done great in his first year there, but even if the new pieces added to the four returnees proves solid in CUSA. I don't think they're on par with some of their better recent teams that made the big dance.

Tubby Smith and Jeff Jones teams have looked the much better coached in these last two games. I suspect they both would trade theirs for LSU's raw talent, even if considering Trey Freeman the best player on the floor.

Monarchs..make 11 of 23 FTs yet win by 9..getting to the rim vs LSU is a piece of cake..lowly Texas Tech got there too..Tigs are rag-tag as of current.

Mediocre is too high. The guy is an excellent recruiter and a bad coach. I totally agree with the free lancing comment. There is no emphasis on defense. This is a team that will get some good wins because they will shoot well (just like last year) and lose a lot of winnable games because they are not a team that emphasizes much else.

Just say he is the LSU coach. It means the same thing, regardless of which sport you are talking about.

No, not the worst. Just mediocre. As always.

Yeah, our guys were probably in awe of the greatness that is ODU and that probably affected our play. With experience, maybe our guys will be able to shed their fear of such perennial powerhouses as Old Dominion. Hell, two or three years from now, WE might be as good as teams like that. At least now that we've faced the best, we'll be ready for the SEC teams.

Well, we're .500 in SEC play in his career, and just stayed within single digits (i.e. moral victory!) of one of the most storied programs in the CUSA and, clearly, all of college basketball. What the hell more could we hope for?
