re: Anybody on here spear catfish in Lake P? - bigcatfish
I would suggest to leave one person in the boat. First of all for safety. Secondly, they can get the fish off the spear and they move the boat as you dive. This makes it easier so you do not have to swim as far back to the boat. I have been with people that kill the fish and leave it on a stringer a...

re: Anybody on here spear catfish in Lake P? - bigcatfish
Been doing it for about 20 years. Everything they told you that you need is accurate. For a first timer I would suggest you try cypress point first. That is just North of the mouth of blind river and lake Maurepas. Tons of stumps, water is not too deep and you can kill fish there almost anytime. ...

re: Warren Drake doing work. Should I dare be hopeful for EBRPSS? - bigcatfish
He has a proven track record in this position. However, his previous tenure in this position he was dealing with a completely different type of student and community. The question is will he be allowed to by the board and the parents. It is going to be tough with him being white. ...

Lebron - bigcatfish
I was looking forward to the game tonight to see if he had the killer instinct like Jordan. He does not. I will never put him in the same category as Jordan. ...

re: LSU, not Duke or Kentucky, will have college basketball's best freshman class - bigcatfish
I agree we have a strong class. I heard Lee Feinswog on the radio with Hanagriff today and they were talking about how next season the crowds will be huge and electric like when Chris Jackson and Shaquille O'neal played. We are not near that level yet. We do not have a dominate big man for next yea...

His skill level is just as good as lebron was at this age if not better. I think his skill level is probably better. Athletically, lebron was better at this age. ...

Yes it is. He will never "reach his potential". He is too soft. How many games did he miss this year?...

re: Time to Step Up Against Youth Sport Specialization - bigcatfish
It is never going to happen. As long as colleges can go out and watch the kids on the summer circuit it will not change. The colleges will not stop. Take basketball for example. Nike and Adidas have major AAU basketball teams that travel all over the country in the summer. If the colleges stop recru...

re: Public School Parents - bigcatfish
If a student takes a dual enrollment class and passes it, they get 110 points towards the calculation of the school SPS. Dual enrollment is basically taking college classes in high school. A student knows where they are in relation to pass/fail all semester. If a student takes an AP class and pass...

re: Public School Parents - bigcatfish
As someone who works in the public school system I agree. It is all about the test scores. The only thing the supervisors are worried about are SPS scores. The bad thing is what improves your SPS is not necessarily best for the kids. The supervisors tell you they agree with you but then they say "...

re: The team did everything right except for one thing. - bigcatfish
When UK got the tech, I assume LSU put their best free throw shooter on the line. If that is the case, they said Hornsby is a 76% free throw shooter. In my opinion, that is pretty weak. ...

re: On the eve of the LHSAA Convention, what would you do regarding the split? - bigcatfish
I never said all of them are doing it. Yes they do take lower academic students if they are good athletes. I have had experience with private schools. The ones I have had experience with do recruit and it is not a level playing field. ...
