He sucks. Not as bad as Shooter the would be roofer if his last name was Smith Jennings, but pretty frickin bad. Hank three at least started out not horrible. That's all gone in a cloud of nazi crank.

I actually don't mind Shooter Jennings. To me he sort of appeals to me as more modern southern rock than country and I really like some his stuff. I don't know why everyone always lumps him in with Hank III, who I have given a legitimate chance, but he is just, just awful.
I guess people feel the same way about Shooter but he and III styles are completely different, and if you want to hear Waylon, than listen to frickin Waylon.

All the people at the packed HOB show III did a month or so ago obviously like him. He blew the roof off that motherfricker.

Hank III was greatness 10 years ago. That one album of his ......Lovesick, Broke and driftin is up there with the great country albums. I've seen him 3 or 4 times....the first time opening for Beck in '99....and he puts on a great show. The speed metal Assjack set takes some getting used to but it aint bad. I hvent listened to what he is putting ot lately. He did sorta get lame around 2005-6.

No, he is absolutely terrible. Would be nothing if it wasn't for his name.
I do like Shooter Jennings' older songs though. His newer stuff sucks just as much as Hank III.

Hank 3 does a badass version of Paycheck's "Only Hell My Mama Ever Raised"... Problem Child on wwoz plays it about every other show. He sounds like his grandad doing this song. Loooooooonesome.....

I have yet to hear a Hank III song I enjoyed.
I agree with LSUfan0420 on Shooter. I don't like all of his stuff, but I do like some of it. I also like a lot of the stuff he plays on his Sirius radio program.
Interesting some say Hank III is good live, cuz I've heard Shooter isn't, though I've never seen him.

Yes I like him quite a bit. I agree that his later albums are no where as good as his mid era stuff.

Shooter can't sing....so live he sux. HankIII has a great voice similar to his grandpa's.

'Straight To Hell' is a masterpiece album. The rest are less complete but still have some great tunes. I thought his latest one was his best effort in a while.
