I liked the name Hornets AND the colors.

But I'm ok with Pelicans (not as good as Hornets but still a decent and relevant name).

The colors are BORING. No way would anyone like our current colors (navy blue and white) over the Hornets colors- purple, gold, and teal.

The only thing I've liked so far with the new colors is the red jerseys- those work.

I think both cities have good brands now.

The Hornets are a great fit for Charlotte. They were Charlotte's first pro team and the name has a historic connection w/ the city. Their rebrand has been a great win for the city.

And Pelicans is a great fit for New Orleans. It is unique in all of pro sports and reps the region. The logos are badass. They just kind of whiffed on the colors and unis. Red and blue is way too common. They initially said that blue was the primary color and gold was secondary. IMO a gold and blue combo would have been better b/c it would be more unusual, but they went w/ mostly blue and red. Nothing wrong w/ that, just so, so common.

This!

If we had to have a new name, I wanted the NOLA Bounce, but Pelicans has grown on me. I don't mind the uniforms, the name is unique and fits well enough, but I want rapey pierre back, dammit!

This X 100000000

Too bad all 3 organizations could not have worked something out. Utah would have come out way ahead, in terms of extra generated revenue from a rebrand, and the price the Pellies probably would have had to pay.

But I genuinely like ther color scheme we currently have, but Pierre >>>>>> Hugo everyday!!!

If we could have gotten Pierre to jump through that ring of fire or ride out like Hugo did for Dallas, that to me would have been worth the price of admission

Also while we are talking about bringing stuff back

It seems like everyone else has gotten over the Pelicans/Hornets re-brand. Maybe we should too.

I do miss Hugo. He was awesome. But in this case we had to throw the baby out with the bathwater so that we could come out ahead with a much more fitting rebrand. I think everything worked out perfect for both franchises.

I watched a Hornets game on League Pass the other night. Their court looks awesome and their jerseys are .MJ is a way better designer than that shite that Shinn had here in NOLA.

I miss it too. I spent 10 years as a hornets fan, it's not easy to just turn that "off" and root for a totally new team.

As a general color scheme the new one isnt anything remarkable, but when you factor in the they are the colors on thr new orleans flag i absolutely love them.

I dig the rebrand as a whole. Pelicans was my 3rd favorite name, logos are great, and i think they did a great job of making the uni's a mix of a classic & modern look. Didnt want to see anything like the Spurs, Okc, or, denver alt uni's.

Of course part of me will always miss the Hornets brand due to all of the fun times i had at the arena watching those teams (even the bad). Especially now that I live in north LA and can very seldom make it down.

Don't really care for our home and away unis. But the red alternates are freaking awesome.
