I'm flipping through League Pass and I got a heart pang as I caught a glimpse of the striking Hornets away unis in Portland just now. Boy do those pop - such a unique look and brand. The other night I saw Hugo (pronounced "Yugo" by the great Mike Breen) urging on the Charlotte faithful as the Hornets pulled away late at home over the Hawks.

I'm okay with the Pellies rebrand, but damn... I really miss the uniqueness of the colors, the FDB, and Yugo.

Not me the Hornets brand never fit in nola. The Pelicans fits nicely in nola and the gulf coast region.

I don't really miss the old brand

But I do sort of find our jerseys and color scheme to be pretty meh and generic

I hope this aspect improves in the coming years

I know what you mean.

I also miss the FAN UP tower Hugo was riding in from the Mavericks playoff series a few years back. I still don't understand it, but damn did I cheer when it blew up.

While that may be the case, I don't really think the re-brand feels very "NOLA-ish" either.

I disagree. The Pelican is the state bird and is the second most common symbol in NOLA and in the state after the fleur de lis. Also, the colors are from the city flag. It's pretty local to me!

The Hugo/Super Hugo schtick was fun.

I think we should bring back the old Pierre in addition to new Pierre so during halftime you can have Pierre transform into Raper Pierre. Fun for all the kids.

Just would've liked another color scheme. Red and blue at far too common in the NBA. Should've went with Mardi Gras colors

I liked the original Hornets colors but that creole blueshit was uglier than IRL 1.

Pelicans>>>>>>>>>>>Hornets as far as NOLA is concerned.

There was nothing "unique" about the Hornets brand in New Orleans. It is back in Charlotte, where it belongs.
