I stopped by today around 11 and there was a line to the door. Is it always like this? Is it because of the day or because of people going back home from the game?

I really wanted to try this place but couldn't wait 20-30 minutes because I am traveling.

They have a drive thru window. Been twice and hit it both times. No longer than 7 or 8 minutes both times.

The few times I have gone it has been on a Saturday and there were lots of LSU shirts in there and the line wrapped around the inside along the cooler to the door so I'm guessing that is the worst day to go on because of people stopping in to eat before the game.

I'm heading there for the first time tomorrow on my way back to Austin...bf wants me to pick up a few things.

I'm getting him both smoked and seafood boudin. I've heard the boudin balls are awesome so I'm definitely grabbing some of those for myself.

Anything else in particular that I just can't pass up? Excited to see if it lives up to the hype.

It was like that on the way back from the Wisconsin game. We waited 45 minutes. But it was worth it. I'll hit the drive thru next time since I know what I want.

wouldn't be surprised if it was more

most out-of-towners travelling I-10 have never even heard of Early's Grocery Store. Great plate lunches and the boudin/cracklins are spot on.

Best Stop and Early's were the "go to" places in Scott before the boudin explosion at Exit 97
