Cozy atmosphere, good cocktails, excellent, fresh food. Everything we had was great, I doubt you could really go wrong....

re: Fire reported at LSU's Student Health Center - L Boogie
I was a student worker there 10 years ago. Some of my Microsoft Paint artwork still hangs on a file cabinet. I loved that job. Having a hard time figuring out what could have ignited. My old boss posted a photo but said they don't know much yet. I hope they are able to get it under control. ...

re: Boston/NE in October - Hotel, etc. recs - L Boogie
I work at a microbrewery, so craft beer is always a plus (research purposes, obviously). I want to see a light house, though. A friend of mine from the Boston area mentioned that we could hit Portsmouth on the way back from Portland; does that seem feasible?...

re: Boston/NE in October - Hotel, etc. recs - L Boogie
AbitaFan08
I'll be in Boston in July for the 3rd time this year, and while there are still plenty of things for me to do and see in town, I'm also looking at taking a day trip somewhere (BF has his truck up there). I had narrowed it down to Portland, ME and Newport, RI. I take...

re: Got a bunch of ground venison - L Boogie
Anything you use ground beef for
I mean, that's the obvious answer but I don't cook with it often and am worried about it being too gamy. Boyfriend shot 2 back in the winter and has since moved to a different state so I have a freezer full of processed meat to use. Spaghetti ac...

re: Need Boston/Maine suggestions - L Boogie
I've done both Harpoon and Sam Adams, and it's Harpoon by a mile. Such a cool vibe and the pretzels are amazing. Beer is better than Sam Adams, too, although our tour was given by the founder of Sam Adams, which was super awesome, so points to SA for that....

re: Austin Food Rec's - L Boogie
No worries. Go,though. Our director of brewing used to brew for Odell and is held in high regard. We have 20+ house-made beers on tap and another 20 guest breweries that rotate frequently. Super cool spot. Make sure you hit the S. Lamar location, though...more house beers and better p...
ABGB - Good pizza, mediocre beer, but a cool place that often has live music
I have a friend at ABGB and I go there fairly often but the beer selection is tiny and not that great. Food is good. Pinthouse Pizza is now right down the street and the beer is fantastic. Much bette...

re: Who here has ever called 911, and what was the emergency? - L Boogie
I called once. Pulled into my apartment complex, a car was stopped and this dude was just beating the absolute shite out of his female passenger. He saw me watching and took off, leaving her on the ground. Against the advice of the operator, I tailed him for a bit to try and get his license plate ...

re: Bayou Teche Brewery releases a beer flavored with Zapp's salt and vinegar - L Boogie
became big again over the past few years
Not sure if there's been a resurgence or not but people in TX love that stuff. The brewpub where I work has only been open since October and we have already had two house-made goses on tap. They sell like crazy (one was made with blue sp...

re: Austin food/bar recommendations? - L Boogie
G'Raj Mahal is on Rainey, too, and it's my favorite Indian in town. The "new" Lustre Pearl just opened (LP was the first bar on Rainey and was uprooted from its original location a few years back...it finally reopened across the street) and it's usually a lot of fun. Just east of 35, there are s...
