And I'm more impressed cause that 5'10 receiver isn't going against a ballhawk 6'1 DB who knows how read a QB and receiver and I promise that window is a lot smaller! Now yeah it would be great to see em in pads against D1 guys but that won't happen till college. The speed and timing changes when you go from throwing to guys and against guys who won't probably ever play college ball to guys who will start D1.

You think this is what recruiting services look at when a QB is throwing at a camp? Who cares if they hit 8/10 passes in a pass scale with no rush vs. 10/10? You don't gain anything from that. A lot of times when these kids show up at a camp, they are throwing to guys for the first or second time. What those guys are going to see when Kelly shows up at a camp is a 6'7" kid who has good feet and a very strong arm (who just so happened to be a top 5 guy in yardage (all classes) in the state of Louisiana against 4A and 5A competition).

I don't expect you to agree, your post about what teams would "handle" STM this year showed me that you aren't very familiar with high school football in the Lafayette area. Could STM lose to some of those teams? Absolutely. But to say that they would lose to all of those teams is ignorant. High school games aren't won because you have two or three division I players on the field. You are a recruiting service guy and that's cool. A lot of people are. You will come around, once Rivals and 24/7 tell you to.

FWIW, I don't see Kelly at LSU. I agree that he won't fit a need because of others that are already committed. However, if Franks or Patterson don't show up, Kelly would be an interesting option.

"Prototypical" NFL QB, Coach Cam would do wonder with three years to work with this kid.

Let's make something clear. LSU has never used a "dual threat" quarterback like other schools have. Jordan Jefferson perhaps ran the most of any QB we've had under CLM, and even then it was a fraction of what Nick Marshall, Johnny Manziel, Braxton Miller, etc. We take dual-threats and make them more one-dimensional. How many times did Anthony Jennings run the option last night?

Also, consider the success we've had with not-so mobile QBs: Davey, Russell, Mett. Lots of great seasons, lots of memorable games.

We'll need 2 QBs for 2016. We're not going to get both Patterson and Franks. But I think Kelly would come to LSU as recruit #2, take a redshirt and realize he'd have an opportunity to start for 1-2 years (perhaps longer if injury arises).

Kelley was on the sidelines for the LSU vs Bama game. Mett with Cam Cameron before the game.

Is Franks as good of a passer? How good is Franks' arm? This kid has an NFL arm, there is no debating that.

He takes every snap out of the gun. He has a great arm and good vision. He sees the whole field. Quite impressive, but would he fit this offense?

I'm not sure Washington DC has bigger statues.
