Yes, here we go again. About to buy a good cooler for my niece's wedding present. When looking at the specs. it looks like the pelican coolers are 10+ lbs heavier than the Yetis when looking at 45qt+ sizes.

Does it make that much of a difference?? I own Yetis, but I've been looking at the Pelicans and really like them, especially the warranty.

I have a yeti 65 qt and my buddy has a 65 qt pelican...let me just say the Pelican is a bit heavier empty when they yeti has ice and drinks in it. Don't get me wrong they are nice and have better features just heavier. I got mine as a gift so if I were to buy one I'd go back with yeti.

Pelicans are built better but unfortunately they do not come with a sticker. If people driving behind you have no idea that you own a pelican then I don't really even see the point.

What's the point of such a massive 45-60qt cooler. You obviously aren't bringing that much for very long so why the big damn deal of a pelican/yeti?

They have Pelicans on sale at Costco if you're interested.

I think the 65qt is 199

You have to compare sizes, the pelican 45 holds as much as Yeti 50. The 35 holds 47 QTS more than yeti 45.

Found it, the Pelican 45 holds 49.5 QUTS, the Yeti 45 holds 35 . Yeti is a much smaller cooler size to size.

I have a 65qt Pelican and it is too damn heavy when it's empty. I rarely use it.

I have a 65qt pelican and I love it. It is big and it's heavy but it does exact what I want it to do which is keep things cold when I go on a trip. Just drove down to the coast sat. And had it packed full of food for a week.
