I stopped by Best Stop this morning on my way home from Baton Rouge. I bought one link of Boudin and a small amount of cracklins. The Boudin was fine, but the cracklins were cold.

Almost as if they stuck yesterday’s leftovers in the fridge and then took them out this morning.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I generally go to Billy's for Boudin balls, Don's for Boudin, and Best Stop for cracklins. Went to Best Stop today because I was going west on I-10 and it was convenient. Probably will go else where next time.

I've actually never been a fan of Best Stop boudin. I do find their boudin balls to be good, oddly enough.

If you're going to do the Exit 97 trip for boudin: Billy's>Don's>Best Stop.

No it hasn't. I've never had cold cracklins from there and their boudin is the best. Hence the name.

I haven't either, prior to today's visit. Bad luck I guess.

I need to try Billy's very soon if it is better than Best Stop. I find Best Stop to be very good boudin.

Once you have Billy's boudin, you'll never bother with Best Stop again.

Yeah I have a co-worker that lives in Lafayette that swears by Billy's. I plan on stopping in next weekend to try it.

It's all about the smoked boudin. It's the best boudin product I've ever encountered.

IMO, from stopping by nearly every week for years while a road warrior, Best Stop has gotten very inconsistent. Sometimes too salty, meat/rice ratio seems to vary, and at times almost inedible. Never used to encounter this. Of the three right off Exit 97, Billy's>>Don's>Best Stop.

I haven't had T-Boy's yet. Need to try now.

I've never been impressed with NuNu's boudin, though. In the Lafayette-Youngsville-Broussard area, I've preferred Earl's, Johnson's and Billeaud's.
