Do you believe LSU devalues your season tickets when they sell $10 tickets to Sam Houston, $15 tickets to New Mexico State/ULM, $40 tickets for Miss State and Kentucky? All of these prices are well below the face value season ticket holders pay. Throw in the donation and we are basically paying for Ole Miss and Alabama. If you have season tickets in the Upper Deck then its no doubt a screw job...

Seems like they are trying to fill the stadium up to look good on tv. The camera men will be focused on how great the expansion so LSU wants it to be full when shown on tv.

I would not buy season tickets today. It's worth just buying the 1-2 big games a year. For the little games, you could probably almost get a ticket for free.

eta. If I was a season ticket holder for a number of years, I would have a tough time getting rid of them just for nostalgia sake. But when I do start a career, I'll be stub hubbin all day until I get OT rich and have money to blow.

Isn't that what you're basically paying for with season tickets anyway, guaranteed admission to the big games? You know that you can get cheap tickets for the individual games that feature weak opponents.

If I'm looking at the home schedule and assessing value out of a dollar, it probably goes something like this:

Alabama - 0.50
Ole Miss - 0.25
Mississippi State - 0.14 (generous)
Kentucky - 0.05
UL-Monroe - 0.03
New Mexico State - 0.02
Sam Houston - 0.01

Sure, but hell they can't be devalued anymore than they already are. You will be able to get tickets free the next 2 weeks.

They're going to get their money from you either way. They could print $10 on the Sam Houston ticket and $300 or whatever on the Alabama ticket if they wanted to based on demand. Would that make you feel better?

It's kind of like the argument that NFL owners shouldn't change regular season ticket prices for preseason games. They will get their money either way, by making all tickets say x $ amount or by making preseason tickets cheaper only to increase the price of the regular season games to end up with the same total $ amount at the end of the season.

I would buy decent season tickets in a second. Problem is, anyone selling them keeps the rights to the next year.

I don't mind paying the prices I pay for my lower bowl tickets; however, when they start paying athletes and they increase my tickets and donations while continuing to sell those tickets cheaper, I will find somewhere to spend my entertainment income - less money for lsu athletics and more for vacations and other leisure time. Someone else can ride that train!
I'm already to the point where I sell 3/4 games every year just to afford the couple of games I want to go to.

It's not just the tickets anymore, it's the parking and the ridiculous concession prices. Those fans might pay $10 a ticket but by the time they get parking and feed the family they are doing exactly what LSU wants them to do - spend more on concessions and everything else

I for one will not buy next season; just can't justify $2,700 (bowl sideline) + $400 parking and I'm afraid this will be the trend from here out where just corporate types can afford those seats and us regular fans will be in south ez or upper sideline. Sad but true!

This is where I am with this for both baseball and football. The football tickets that I have are the same ones that we had when my grandfather used to take me and he transferred them to me when he got too old to go. For baseball, my wife bought them for me in 1996 when I graduated from college, so I've been sitting with the same crew for 18 years and they're kind of like family. So, I haven't gotten rid of them even thought it makes financial sense and I haven't upgraded them because I like the people around me (baseball) and I've had a lot of great moments there (football).

The only way your season tickets can be "devalued" is if you are trying to sell them to make a profit and it doesn't work.

The devaluing occurs when the crappy teams are scheduled. I don't think the cheap tickets for those games do much to lower it. Most of the those tickets are going to be given away free anyway.

I imagine you're getting better value from the baseball season tickets right?

$10 face value? Is there also a tradition fund?

I am hoping that in the future, there will be no cupcake games and only teams from the other power conferences will be on the schedule.

I gave up my SEZ ticket this year. I only get to make 1-2 games a year and it just wasn't worth the extra fees etc. I'll be coming over for the Ole Miss game and will get a great seat I'm sure just by walking up to the stadium and buying one outside.

They did make the Bama game a 100 face value and Ole Miss 80 this year. But yea it really feels like shite buying season tickets for the first time and seeing this. Especially when they increased the cost of season tickets this year.

For me if there is a cost they need to do away with to get people to go is the damn parking fee. Go back to the way it used to be and you don't have to Groupon your game tickets.

If I sell my Alabama tickets it pays for more than what my season tickets cost. So, there's that.

Problem is that is 1 of 3 games I'm actually excited to see all year.
