Best red beans and rice I ever made. Used a little different method and came out great. Differences:

1. No cayenne...used fresh Serano peppers from my garden.

2. Used Maxwell's fresh Italian sausage instead of their andouille.

Made a lentil vegetable soup and am in the process of making tomato basil bread pudding. Bringing it to a family meal. Don't know what else we're having.

I don't usually like Italian sausage in my RBR. I don't like the anise flavor in my beans.

I may make some beans now that you mention it.

Surprised my hubs and cooked him some ribs, baked beans, dirty rice, zucchini and squash, cole slaw and garlic bread while he was cutting grass.
