What rules do you want to see put in or changed for CFB or NFL?

I know we all complain about certain penalties or lack of certain penalties. That being said which one would you want to see implemented or changed.

For me the only one I would want to see modified is the Pass Interference rule. I like the 15 yds or spot if within 15 rule. I want it changed though to where if the Offense commits the foul it is also loss of down and the yardage.

What say you?

Did they change the college targeting/head shot rule this offseason? It was ridiculous teams still got 15 yards penalized after the call and ejection was overturned by replay.

Last night's extra point attempt moved back to the 15 really is what it should be.

The call was never overturned but the ejection was. I do not know if they can reverse the call now. I understand the reason for the call and I can somewhat get the ejection, but I think they should look at video before ejection, not other way around.

Isn't there an excessive celebration penalty in college football where they can take back a TD? That's the single worst rule.

College hash marks in the NFL. I want to see the pros kick with more difficult angles.

5 yard incidental facemask. It's pretty easy to differentiate tackling by the mask vs. accidentally getting a finger in the cheese-shredders they're wearing today.

The punt rules get me too: If you miss ball and the kicker flops you just screwed your defense, but if you get so much as a pinky on it & alter it's line you can liquidate him?

When this

Is a 15 yard targeting penalty and sends your best DL to the bench the rest of the game, you better change the frickin rules.

Oh, yeah...from the same game

This was called targeting as well. But before our guy got sent to the showers they changed their mind and let him stay..but still kept the 15 yard penalty.

Absolute horse shite. Actually, now that I think about it, my biggest change for CFB would be to send that entire crew from that game to hell.

The penalty is actually when someone taunts before crossing the goal line. The penalty is a live ball penalty and is enforced properly. The same as if an offensive player was holding away from the play before his teammate crossed the goal line. If a college player crosses the goal line, then spikes the ball; the TD would not be taken away because that would be a dead ball penalty.

I like how in the CFL you can challenge a PI call or lack thereof.

I'd like to see CFB and NFL add that to what you can challenge.

also 5 yd incidental contact with the passer, instead of always roughing

Curious that with the NFL trying to increase offense they've never adopted the 1 foot in bounds pass reception rule

Cowherd had an idea I like regarding the extra point.

Idea is for a TD to be worth 7 points. Team can take the 7 and proceed to the kick off with no commercial break in the NFL (to avoid the dumb double commercials both before and after kickoff) or the coach can decide to go for 2 from the 3 yard line. If the team scores they get a point for 8 total. If they don't, they lose a point for 6 total.

He should have been on the bench in your first one - that was obvious targeting - he didn't get into his hit motion until after the ball was thrown.
Now he didn't hit him as hard as he could have - but it was obvious targeting.

I hate how the game favors offense. I would like them to even it out more. Defensive penalties give the offense a chance to replay the down with less yards needed. I would love to see more offensive penalties lead to loss of down. The penalty was committed but they played out the entire play, why should they get a second chance after a penalty?

Punts that go at least 20 yards are live balls.

I do actually kinda like this, but...we've all seen a football game with a botched XP, or a shank, or a block, etc. that seriously turned the tide of the game and affected the outcome. I know it's routine and it's virtually automatic, but just counting it on the board automatically is kind of doing a disservice to the game.

This. Plus he hit him high.

But I hate the review rule which keeps the 15 yard penalty while ruling that targeting shouldn't have been called like the 2nd clip.
