re: The Young Pope - Backinthe615
Bump. Despite the over the top, inauspicious start Ep. 2 delivered. There's all the runway and actors for a fantastic crash and burn. Hope it keeps delivering. Daft Pope....

re: Kansas Next 3 Games - Backinthe615
OU just waltzed into Morgantown & won with a bunch of Freshmen. WVU may be KU's last loss but even if the Mountaineers escape Manhattan tonight, they've been trending down since Baylor. It just depends on which team shows up. UK looks like the toughest out of those to me and might be the only one...

re: As opening scenes go, how do you feel about Gangs of New York? - Backinthe615
Always watch if I catch it on. But since I noticed it - I can't unnotice electric guitar being a little weird to hear in a movie based in the 1860's - though there's plenty of period-centric music, too. I think it only happens in the beginning and in the flash-foward at the end, which sort of makes ...

I remember liking it as a kid. Caught it a while back and thought it has held up well. One thing that struck me on rewatch is how long Liam Neeson has been doing movies. *oopsy. Neeson ...

re: So is Argo actually a good movie? Never watched it... - Backinthe615
It's an alright movie. Didn't find it Oscar-worthy, but I like most stuff with Arkin and the story is pretty cool...but *spoilers I guess: Almost every part of the ending was completely made up Hollywood bull shite. All that really happened was the flight being delayed for a bit....

re: The crisp sound effects in No Country For Old Men - Backinthe615
The foley is practically a supporting actor in the film. The whole scene where he's stashing cash in the air duct, from clipping the hanger to the squeak of leather against metal was really well done. Chigurh's meticulous hotel room scene with the buckshot circling the sink, shotgun blasts pelti...
