I like my Dyson, and like how easy it is to disassemble if there is a clog. I can take it apart with no tools pretty much all the way.

I agree with this. I have a Dyson. Look up reviews on respectable websites.

I've had my Dyson for 4 years with no problems whatsoever.
Best vacuum I've ever owned.

People who own a Dyson love it because their last vacuum was a 6th of the price and was terrible, while there are other vacuums out there for less than half the price that will be just as good or better. The Dyson is sleek, the accessories expensive, and the marketing just vaguely technical enough to give the appearance of elite sophistication.

Dyson is the Apple of vacuum cleaners.

That said, I own a Dyson as well, the DC28 animal.

The first week I got it, it started malfunctioning, and I determined it needed a new motherboard (yes, motherboard). Got it replaced under warranty. Since then, it's been working flawlessly. Been almost 5 years. Has it been the best vacuum I've ever owned? Without a doubt. Would I recommend it? Nope.

Similarly, my parents have been using a Hoover Windtunnel for several years with no issues, and I know someone with a Bissel who's just as happy. I actually went on a knowledge binge about vacuum cleaners when I bought my first Roomba, and I've since learned that there's nothing in the Dyson, performance-wise, that justifies its higher price tag.

The correct answer is SEBO. Look for it on Amazon.

And yes, I've had Shark and Dyson too.

For the amount of money a Dyson costs, I'd seriously look into hiring Spicystacy's topless crew to do the job.

Folks who own Apple products are always justifying why they spent so much money on the product

Apple is a great product, Dyson is a great product.

It is NOT the greatest thing since slice bread.

A dyson is a plastic vac it is in NO way equal to an Apple product

I have the Shark Professional Liftaway + IRobot combo. Hard to beat. Though I will be getting a Neato soon and comparing. I will share results when I do.

I have a dyson as well and it's OK.

However I bought it to replace an aging $70 Panasonic I bought in 1997 and to be perfectly honest.. Even though the Panasonic lives in the garage now to vacuum out my vehicles..it still has the best suction.
