The connoisseur gun thread: Best quality manufacturers in each category

Who makes the highest quality firearms in production today for each different type of firearm? Not limited to American manufacturers but will probably be an American heavy list.
I am a revolver guy so here are my nominations:
Single Actions
Modern:
This category starts and stops with Freedom Arms. The handwork and attention to detail on these guns is just outstanding. Just one example: The transfer bar for the FA97 rides up inside the hammer, which takes an impressive amount of hand fitting just to work correctly. If you ever handle one of these guns notice how the metal pieces mate together flawlessly.
Traditional:
Colt is the name to look for here. The originator of the model way back in 1873, Colt today is the only maker that produces highly fitted and finished traditional single actions today. Quality has varied during the 3rd Generation run that started in the mid 1970's, but the guns being produced today in limited quantities from the Custom Shop are generally of high quality.
Double Actions
I have to go with the Korth. Produced in Germany in limited amounts the quality is by all reports outstanding on these guns with accuracy to match. Very precisely manufactured beyond anything currently being offered by the Americans.
Who could be considered tops for the other categories?
Semi-Auto Pistol
Bolt Action Rifle
Semi-Auto Rifle
Shotgun
Other?

Not even close on those last three. Turnbull for 1911's too. Bolt action rifle and shotgun you are looking at Holland & Holland, Blaser, Griffin & Howe, and others. Semi-auto rifle would have to be narrowed down to platform and usage.

Riffle: Blaser love my R97 in 7mm08 & .270 WSM
Shotgun: SemiAuto: Beretta; Real ones: to hard to say. Purdy, Blaser makes a great Shotgun as well as their Riffles. Damn too many greats.
Pistol: Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, hell IDK.
Colt for Revolvers

you talkin bout some shite youre not even supposed to shoot?
Posted on 7/27/14 at 7:35 pm to LouisianaChessie
Not supposed to shoot? That's exactly what they are made for. I've been handed a H&H .20ga to shoot few clays and I certainly didn't turn down the opportunity because of such nonsense. If I ever had the wherewithal to buy something like that it's going to see some use. Of course I don't know if they make gunracks for Ferraris...

.45 = Ed Brown.
At one point, Ed Brown manufactured every single part of his guns and he was the only custom maker to do so.

As far as over and unders go, I shot a buddy of mines Krieghoff for a couple rounds and it was by far the fines gun I've ever shot.

There is a point in many of the top tier lines where the money is being spent on the engraving, hand fitting and finishing and the pedigree name. The guts of all those guns are different in design but perfection by mechanical standards.

FA revolvers are so fine. I have a want.

Is there a plastic category?

Have to throw Perazzi in there for O/Us
There are probably better, but for semi custom stuff Dakota Arms make real nice rifles/shotguns.
Also, an old boss had a Jarrett rifle. That sum bitch was nice. Jarrett even sighted and loaded rounds specifically for his rifle. Dude needs more bullets he gives them a ring and they send him the specific load.
