Your grill doesn't work at night?

If you want REALLY quick get a George Foreman. It cooks both sides at the same time.

Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe it would be cheaper to buy a new lightbulb for the porch light than an indoor grill.

But if you really, truly can't go outside after dark, I'd rather have a grill pan (assuming you have a gas stove, decent electric & decent vent hood) than a silly electric griddle. Various makers sell ridged grill pans--cheaper, easier to clean up, and no bulky single-purpose appliance to store when you're not using it.

What you linked to are no more than "George Foreman" variations. Eh, why bother, for anyone not cooking in a dorm room.

You have a stovetop/oven right? Get a good cast iron skillet, problem solved.

Make sure you take a look at the grease tray and how convenient it is. The George Foreman grill I had had a detached cup that was a pain to keep from knocking it over. Same with Cuisinart Griddler.

ETA: just couldn't resist being an arse. Do what Boo said, use a well seasoned cast iron for most of that. I find the George Foreman to be really handy, but for whatever reason, food off of it never seemed quite right to me. And as Rat said, the little plastic grease tray had to be lined up just right and a ceiling fan would move it enough to let grease run out on the counter. I installed a Wolf indoor grill (220V) and it is wonder, but then again, it should be, for the $$$.

With one aimed at the grill and the other out to the backyard.

Get a cast iron grill that you put over your burners. Those other things won't get hot enough and with the tops, you're likely to have gray steamed meat. I bought a few of them years ago when I wanted to escape the heat for something quick and when I wasn't doing more than at few things at a time. They were crap. Now, I have an indoor gas grill in my stovetop with a commercial vent. Fabulous for quick, late at night and small amounts. I use it several times a week.

whenever you pick a grill, break it in with some Carson's Uppity Chicken, and post the experience here
