LSU senior wide receiver Rob Bolden will transfer to another school prior to the 2014 season, a source close to LSU said Monday. Bolden transferred to LSU as a quarterback from Penn State two years ago.

Bolden, a 6-feet-4, 208-pounder from Detroit, was moved from quarterback to wide receiver last spring but was not expected to have an impact in 2014. Possible landing places include Central Michigan or Eastern Michigan, the source said.

Bolden played little in LSU's spring game in April and caught one pass for 37 yards. After playing in 20 games with 15 starts at quarterback for Penn State, Bolden did not play during his two seasons at LSU. He apparently was not an option for being moved back to quarterback for 2014 after Stephen Rivers and Hayden Rettig transferred earlier this year.

That leaves LSU with two scholarship quarterbacks, sophomore Anthony Jennings and freshman Brandon Harris, for the 2014 season.

What brought him here anyways? Was he actually looking for playing time at QB?

If Jennings or Harris go down, season is a wash anyways. Just run the wishbone until next year.

It isnt devastating but to only have two scholarship QBs isn't good

I sure hope Jennings and Harris are able to stay healthy.

If we were down to just Bolden at QB, we would be as screwed as it would be now with just a walk on QB

At some point the kid should just admit he sucks at football (relatively) and just enjoy college.

I mean, I guess... How many teams actually have legitimately good third-stringers?

If Bolden was in, I don't see it being any better than putting Magee under center.

Meh, if Harris/Jennings go down, we should just tank and go for the #1 pick in the recruiting draft

If both go down..... I do not want it... But it would be creative afterwards.
