glass is half full- guess our WR's depth is better than we thought

glass is half empty- depth at qb down 3 in past few months

I at least assumed he wanted/needed to get away from the situation at Penn State and he just liked the school.

If THAT'S the case, the transfer doesn't make sense to me, considering he should have made this decision a lot sooner if he was actually looking to play college ball. A mediocre Big 10 QB doesn't transfer to a powerhouse SEC school and expect to make an impact.

kinda what i was thinking myself, which seemed to be even further reinforced by his switching to WR without talks of transfer prior to spring practice. The timing just seems odd as he's been in the program for 2 years now without ever having a realistic shot at playing QB prior to coming or at any time during his stay

Weird.

I thought he was brought here for depth. Where would he go to provide additional depth?

Is there such thing as a better school for third stringers?

Rob Bolden wasn't a QB. Rivers graduated.

according to the last Depth chart that came out he was a QB...and Rivers all though did graduate still transferred to play football

Plus Bolden was more of a QB than WR

False.

If that was the case, he would have gotten reps at QB over Kragthorpe and Rettig in the Spring game.

His move to WR was a charity attempt to get him on the field.

All this tells me is that the freshman WRs are probably performing very well.

It is disturbing to have only two scholarship players at QB when we had 4 a couple of months ago.

They haven't started practice yet. It doesn't tell us anything about our freshman WRs.

Get over it. Harris and Jennings were the the only two that were going to factor in this year. It would have been nice if Rettig would have stayed, but you can't blame him for his move.

Did he take any snaps at WR in the spring game? If so, that could have told him AND the staff all they needed to know about his future at the position.

Has he graduated? He appears to be headed to a smaller time program where he can get legit PT

Or at least there is the expectation that they will... and he wanted to play before he couldn't any longer.

Again, why not transfer sooner? If he really likes LSU and wanted to graduate here, that's fine, but it's not like a transfer is really going to help him get in to the NFL, unless he just really loves football that much.

no practice but they've been involved in 7's, voluntary drills, and workouts all summer.

I guess delaying the move to the real world isn't a horrible idea. Play ball one more year
