Just finished up Oz and wanted to start up a new series. A guy I work with just finished House of Cards and said it was good. I seem to remember some praise for The Shield on this board. Whats the boards thoughts?

Haven't seen The Shield. HOC is a 9/10 for me.

I'd do House of Cards. You can finish in a week or 2

I will do both but I thought of doing House of Cards first for that reason. The Shield has a lot of episodes.

I would watch HoC first just because its a quick watch. The Shield however is far and away the better show though. HoC is a great show but The Shield is a religious experience that will have you worshipping at the altar of Mackey.

The Shield. It's a top 5 show for me. I like HOC but it's not on the same level.

I have never seen the Shield, but HoC is only two seasons, so it would make sense to watch that first. I believe the third season is coming out soon as well(someone correct me if I'm wrong).

The Shield is one of the greatest shows ever.

Probably my favorite of all time.

House of Cards is good but slightly over rated in my opinion.

Team Shield here. I haven't watched HoC, so I can't speak to its quality - a fairly high rate of positive reviews suggests you cannot go wrong if you watch both, regardless of order.

The Shield is my GOAT show - in the same league as Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad.

Shield

I am super picky and fickle. My interest in shows wane quickly.

But The Shield was amazing.

Try The Killing on Netflix. Just started watching this week; finished first of 3 seasons last night. Hooked.
