Cops shoot 377 rounds into car of unarmed suspect, hitting each other in x-fire

Wow, that means that, on average, each cop shot 16.4 shots. Must've been some serious reloading going on

This is not the way a civilized society behaves. We now live in a police state. This is what one would expect to see in Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, or Africa....but now it is very common for local police forces to behave like little 3rd world armies, or the SS.
I'd love to hear the radio recording leading up to this. Once a cop is killed, they go nuts...steroids rage kicks in and the shaved head neanderthals are going to shoot someone. It's nothing more than a mob of armed morons out of control.
Time for politicians to pull the teeth from the dogs.
I don't care if the criminals shot a cop, there is no excuse for what happened here. We are supposed to have a judicial system to determine guilt or innocence and delivery justice.
The most frightening aspect of these dime-store cowboys playing army is that so many Americans don't see problem with it. What I really don't understand is why the national media is all over this frightening new 'normal'. They're generally whiny liberals who should love bashing law and order types. Why is everyone so unconcerned about this?
ETA: Oh, I forgot, everyone is too worried about some old guy having a racist private conversation with his girlfriend, or some movie star's new marriage, or whether gays had their feelings hurt about what someone said.

Still doesn't excuse the officers negligent barrage of lead. As a shooter you're responsible for every round you fire. I can respect their emotions concerning one of their own being slain but that doesn't alleviate their responsibility to keep the public safe.

The allegation that one of the guys in the Volvo killed a police officer doesn't justify the reckless way the mob acted.
A couple of ironic things to note...The injuries to the police who were shot by other police will be added to the statistics showing how dangerous their job is and that's why they need to militarize. Also, police defenders usually say it's okay for police to militarize because they are highly trained while the average citizen's rights should be restricted because they are not trained professionals like these officers.

Quick question for anyone who might know the answer. Is there some type of across-the-board standardization in police training, or is it completely up to the city/state/municipality?
Just curious, because I would imagine some police forces get a lot better training than others.

The standards are set statewide, and officers in LA attend POST training and get certified before they can carry a weapon. Municipalities have their own internal policies and training to go along with that.

Uh - Glock 17's hold 17 (+1) rounds. AR-15s have 20 or 30 round magazines.
Could have been zero reloading.
