Vitamix or Ninja?

Not sure if I want to bite the bullet for the Vitamix yet. Looking to make mostly fruit smoothies.

I just started using the Ninja Professional that we got as a wedding gift, and it's pretty awesome. I've made fruit and veggie smoothies with it, and they've come out well.

No one with an ounce of gray matter would buy a 400 dollar blender for residential use, it is a pointless waste of money unless you use it every day for every meal.

I would think people would get twice as much use out of a nice blender than a $300 stand mixer that every woman has to have. I can count the times on one hand that my wife has used this.

We don't have a nice blender though, I use a cheapo.

Have a Blendtec and love it. There is no comparing the results of the finished product from the Blendtec vs the lesser blenders I have owned. If it ever dies, it will be replaced with another blendtec.

I have a Ninja. I've enjoyed it, but I don't use it for smoothies. I have no experience with the others, but the Ninja serves my purposes very well and the price was reasonable.

I go back and forth on the vitamix and blendtec. One of these days I am going to take the plunge and get one.

Getting all of the toys for a KAid will make you retract that fear of yours. Food mill with or without sausage application, pasta maker/ravioli stuffer and grain mill for home made wheat /or other flours.

You think someone that doesn't even use it to mix is going to use it for any of that?

Just more shite for the giant kitchen drawer we had installed. I buy sausage and pasta. My wife cooks some really good food, but ain't nobody got time for that.

I bought the Ninja Mega Kitchen System at Sams for around $150 a few months ago and love it. I usually make 1-2 smoothies every day and it works great. I was worried about texture when I make vegetable smoothies but I haven't had any issues.

To each his own. I drive a 10 year old car whose blue book value is less than my stove. I can't understand why people drive luxury sports cars whose price is 1/3 of a decent house, but I can fully appreciate the $400 blender.

Mine uses hers a ton. It is really great at making a sugary/flour mess on the counters. But I don't mind cleaning it up before I put it back up because that means I'm going to enjoy some great desserts for the next few days. And we don't leave ours out on the counter as a decoration either. It goes in the cabinet above our wall oven when not in use.

I've heard the newer ones are not as good as the old ones. Something about the motor or gearing in them. Ours is over 10 years old and runs great. Next time you're making a chicken salad, or any type of meat-based salad or dip, toss the cooked meat in there with the paddle attachment instead of the whisk and turn it on low for about a minute. Breaks it apart without shredding everything up. We've used it on buffalo chicken dip, chicken salad, and even to pull pork we cooked in the crockpot for sandwiches.

Back to blenders, we have a nice KitchenAid one. Very heavy, and we used to make big batches of smoothies for our daughter. She is a picky eater, and we'd make her yogurt and fruit juice smoothies, and toss in a bunch of bananas. She'd down 20 oz of that every morning as her breakfast.

I've had mine for almost a year, now. Works great. It absolutely pulverizes ice, vegetables, and fruit. The texture of smoothies is great. I love the single serving
"bullet style" containers.

I use my Vitamix at least once a day... Sometimes twice or three times.
I always send people to ninja if they aren't ready to pay the $. Both will get the job done but I do prefer vita
