Searched didn't see much and nothing as of late. Never been thinking about trying it out this weekend.

I haven't bee in a 1.5 years. The few times I've dined there have been excellent. They always have interesting latin dishes that you don't see often in NOLA.

They do have a new chef since my last visit, and can't speak to any changes made. I agree, that place gets no love on this board.

My first question is whether Garcia maintains any ownership or management interest in the place these days. I think he divested himself of it awhile back.

Anyway, I haven't been in awhile, but it was always topnotch. Really good seafood that you can't always find in N.O. and prepared in unique ways.

Give it shot.

Yep, Garcia's no longer involved.

I think he's completely out. Needed $ to help finance his theater venture.

Now, his partner in crime(Bazan) still owns the place.

I noticed La Boca had a tent at Hogs last weekend. By the time I found them, they had sold out of every item. I was pissed as their menu sounded better then anything I saw out there.

Seems like after Garcia left it dipped a little. We used to go frequently. Haven't been in over a year.

Hmmm. I'd go check it out for their happy hour. Would I need reservations for happy hour tomorrow?

Have had the ceviche tasting, grilled octopus, garlic soup, gambas al mole and hanger steak and all were very good but that was a few years back when Garcia was in the kitchen.

RioMar used to be my SO's favorite place back when it was still under the management of AG; however, since his departure, the quality has declined, portion size has decreased, and prices have increased.

The quality leaves something to be desired and the portions, while never big to begin with (which is fine with me as long as the quality and price point of the food backs it up) seemed to decrease.

All of this was coupled by the fact that the last time we were there they were pumping sewage out of the bathroom while we were eating dinner. Needless to say, that didn't really set the mood for us

TL;DR it used to be much better, but it's a shadow of it's former self. We went 4 months ago and have no plans to return.

I went a handful of times while Garcia was there and enjoyed it, and I've been twice since he left and still enjoy it. I've sent a few people there recently and they have enjoyed it as well.

I don't know who owned in when I went a few years ago but I didn't really care for it and haven't been back since.

I've never been for dinner, but I've gone a few times for happy hour and enjoyed it very much. The happy hour deals are great with $5 appetizers and 1/2 off ALL drinks.

I really like the stuffed poquillo pepper appetizer.

Fro nailed it.

Easily one of my favorite NO restaurants. I have eaten dinner here at least 10 times in the last few years. Always a great meal and I like their spanish wine list.

Garcia is kind of a dick though.
