I'd prefer the Pels not use this recent Pistons model.

They are a half game out of the playoffs and will send their pick to Charlotte anyway unless they get to the bottom 8 (3 games back of much, much worse teams). They are flawed but should still be better, Cheeks isn't a difference making coach.

I'm not sure what is worse. Keeping a bad coach or bailing on a coach too soon.

he caught fire in a bottle 10 fricking years ago and has been absolutely terrible since
he's possibly the worst GM in FA in my lifetime
he blew up the title-winning roster to get cap space once and netted ben gordon and charlie fricking villenueva
he then basically rebuilt again to fix the problems of that horrible offseason and signed josh smith to a max contract when he already had a 4 and 5 on rookie deals (with one about to his RFA) and also signed a inefficient chucker who has a so-so outside shot

He hit gold early in his time (Billups signing, Ben Wallace Trade, Sheed trade), since then just some awful personnel decisions (specifically the $$$$ given to B. Gorden and CV31 in 08 or 09).
I did like his Monroe and Drummond picks lately and I do think KCP will be alright.
