That's even worse  I think the Lakers were dumb for giving that to Magic but at least it's Magic...

It's insane to argue that a GM doesn't need to have expert knowledge of the CBA, the Kings have plenty of cap experts I'm sure. ...

re: Cavs offer Billups 5yr Deal - floridatigah
Kerr was a Suns consultant for years and lived in Phoenix, knew everybody in that organization. He also sucked, and was hired by a terrible owner like Gilbert. Everybody keeps going to the Kerr comparison, who was hired 10 years ago. There's a better, more recent one [img]https://cdn.hoopsrumo...

re: NBA Trade Talk - floridatigah
[quote]On top of that, Boston still has BKN's pick next year which undoubtedly will be in the top 5. Admittedly I'm not privy on who the top college prospects are but if there's an elite PG they could take him and avoid paying IT 30+m when he's going into his 30's and run the offense through KP/Hayw...

Waiting until after free agency could also open up options so teams wouldn't be trading him into their open space....

re: NBA Trade Talk - floridatigah
The Lakers pretty much have to trade for PG if they want to sign both him and Lebron and have a suitable roster around them. Pacers could get more out of the Lakers if they call their bluff and wait. ...

re: NBA Trade Talk - floridatigah
That's your guess. If they don't want to pay Clarkson or Randle then that offer is next to nothing. You don't think some team would move a mid-first round pick for a few months of George?...

re: NBA Trade Talk - floridatigah
[quote]What the Pacers are doing is why I have no sympathy for small market teams that get crushed when a free agent leaves. George did them a favor by saying he is leaving in one year. The offer of two late firsts and a very good player for a player leaving is fair. But the Pacers are going to lose...

Exactly, Clarkson and Randle are barely assets because of their contract situations. Some team can beat that offer, even knowing PG might walk....

Would love him on the Sixers. Fultz-Beverley-Covington-Simmons-Embiid is a legit lineup. Sixers have some pieces to send to Indiana in a PG trade....

If the Lakers are all in on the Lebron pursuit do they really want to have Ball on the roster when Lavar went at his parenting skills?...

re: Lakers trade D'angelo Russell & Mozgov to Nets for Brook Lopez, 27th pick - floridatigah
They'd be right around 70 mil with PG's cap hold by my estimation. Assuming Lebron wants the max they'd need a little more, could get it easily by giving away Clarkson or renouncing Randle....

Have to clear a little more room. Acquiring PG and re-signing him would save about $15m I believe as opposed to signing him as a FA....
