Buying a house, need some gas range recs.... bumping

First and foremost this is a 200k home, I know what i really want in a gas range.... but that will be too expensive for this home and I want to resale in about 5-7yrs and be able to sale quick so I don't want to put in a dacor, viking, thermador etc. I need to stay in the less than $2000 price range. Any recommendations on a brand? I need a slide in as it already has a nice backsplash built in. Its really hard to find good reviews online for this stuff. They never rank all the brands together. I know about kenmore (elite), ge (cafe, monogram) and electrolux. I'm curious about kitchen aid, samsung, lg etc etc... thanks Also, didn't know if this needed to be on the OT or not...

This is gets good reviews for the price.
HypoTheory
The stainless chassis sounds solid. No electronics either.

I need a range not a cook top.... sorry if i wasn't more descriptive. The previous homeowners updated the kitchen with a new sink and granite, cabinets, but did not change the appliances.

I misunderstood. Sorry.

Stole this from a post of mine a few years back:
I have one of these:
GE JGSP28
Got lucky to get it too. When we looked at our house, they hadn't put a range in. We wrote it in our contract to put a gas one. All of the other houses in the same neighborhood had a similar electric model.
At first I thought it was a six burner but the middle part is an exhaust from the oven that's good for keeping food warm. I love it and will never cook on electric again.

Make sure the grate surface is continuous on top so you can slide pots around. Gas ovens will be cheaper than a dual fuel.
There are tons of good options.

I have a kitchenaid dual fuel slide-in model and love it. I liked the edge to edge grates on the top and the front left burner flips to hold a wok.
If I were to move, I would purchase this exact model again.

Your kitchen aid have convection?

I guess you house has a gas line afterall?
Go with a dual fuel ( electric oven/gas stove). I don't have any complaints with my cooking and I have a basic Kenmore.

This is what I plan to do. I can't justify spending more money to get a duel fuel. I'd rather just have gas all the way.... my biggest concern is what types of brands should I look into in that $2000ish price range. I know kenmore elite, electrolux, ge profile (etc) tend be solid ranges. The Jenn-air is supposed to be nice, but its on the fringe of what i would be willing to spend. I looked into the Bosch, but it apparently comes with plastic knobs that discolor rather quickly. I am intrigued by the kitchen aid range though... but, im curious about the samsung, lg, frigidaire etc.... Also, I need a slide in range.... one that doesn't have a backsplash. The owners put up a nice backsplash that I don't want to cover.

Bosch uses the same ranges as Thermador. I love my Therm, but to save on cost I highly recommend Bosch. It is what I was going to get until I fell in love with the star pattern burners of the Therms

Buy a Blue Star range. I can't find prices, but I'd imagine $2300-2500.

22,000 Btu.

Try twice that. A 30", gas only in stainless steel is $4500 locally. Expect to pay extra for special colors or a top configuration other than 4 burners. That said, it's a slide-in range, so you can take it with you when you move.

Oh jeez, it's been a while since I looked. I have a 36" range I was thinking about replacing years ago and I thought Blue Star was priced more competitively than the other brands. That's not why I wanted it, I just thought unsealed burners with a gas oven would run a bit cheaper.
Scratch my previous post.

Can the contractor modify the cabinets to fit a 36 inch slide-in?
Posted on 1/21/14 at 9:45 am to CITWTT
House was built in 98. Brand new granite countertops. I'd hate to make space to fit a 36" as much as id like to.... I looked up bluestar already... Just a tad to pricey for what I need. I did see a NSR or NXS stove... Kind of along the bluestar but cheaper... Sorry NXR. Anyone heard of them?
