I am having some issues. When we built our home, the electrician put in the lights. But this week I found out the nut that holds the globes on isn't the right size. I can't find a company that sells just these retainer nuts and I can't find any nuts at a hardware store. There is no markings on the light to tell me a manufacturer.

There is not enough information to handle your issue here.

Am I a lighting expert? No.
Can I point you in the right direction? Possibly.
Where are you located? The locating in your screen name doesn't tell me shite.
What size nuts are you looking for?

Maybe a picture of said light would expedite this process?

This, I firmly believe.

When was this? Who was the electrician? They can point you in the direction of the lighting supplier.

Have you tried a local hardware store, or something like TrueValue, instead of Home Depot or Lowes? I find they have a much better selection on things like that. Also if there is any lightings shops in your area, you might drop in there and see if they can help.

I tried all of them. I've shaved plumbing fittings to see if those work to no avail.

I'm in Baton Rouge area. Haven't been to a lighting place yet since I bought the lights online.

Baton Rouge. What doesn't make sense? The nuts they put on the light dont fit. They are too big causing the globes to wobble when fricked with.

Sounds like your electrician ran into the same problem as you are right now and said the hell with it an ddid the best he could, my suggestion....don't frick with it and they wont wobble....or buy new fixture.

Go to Notoco. If they can't fix it you might as well burn your house down, collect the insurance money and rebuild.

I kinda have to change the bulbs every so often.

And thanks for the link Meridian to the lamp parts store. I'll check it out. I am looking for somewhere between 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" nut

Because the nut generally come in the box with the lights. I am an electrician. You may have to change the fixtures if it becomes a safety issue, that is if you are worried one might fall and possibly injure someone.

If the nut is sealed on one side, its prolly what they call an "acorn" nut.
