Just lie about your income. I tell them my income is 200k now (it isn't close).

No idea. They aren't going to come after you though. Just don't do stupid shite. You seem like a smart college kid but I know when I was younger I couldn't handle a credit card.

I think your problem would be hitting the spending thresholds. I don't know many college kids that have 1k (or more) a month in expenses they can put on a card.

When you get out of school and have regular expenses you'll be in a better position. I would hold off till then. Whatever you do, pay that card off every month.

Not even remotely and I don't recommend it. Lying on a credit application is fraud.

I shouldn't be advocating it, but if you pay it off every month then nobody will ever know. Trouble only comes if you default on the loan.

Some banks do random audits. They do have the right to do financial reviews.

Amex is notorious for this.

Not to mention, it isn't that necessary to lie. You can get pretty much all premium cards at about 50k and a good credit score. No need to put ridiculous 200k if you don't make near that.

At closer to 80k you're never going to have a problem at all judging by people I've recommended cards too, etc.

This is certainly true for corporations--both c-corp and s-corp. Some banks will request interim business and personal financial statements on a quarterly basis.

What are we doing these days to manufacture spending for sign up bonuses? I'll be applying for the Ink Plus soon, and while I could fairly easily meet the $5,000 in three months, it would require my putting spending on it I would rather put on other cards (e.g. dining). RIP Amazon Payments.

Any thoughts on hhonors? We have a southwest card with the companion status, so I don't need any additional airline miles. Also interested in hearing about Marriott cards

Square Register App. Each bank account you sign up with you get a free $1k worth of swipes when using referral link from existing customer. If you have 2-3 bank accounts, you can sign them all up and sign your family/friends up if they need help hitting minimum spends.
It's real simple. Order free Square app through link, connect bank account, and swipe card on phone when square reader comes in. Money is in bank account in 2 days. No catch. I signed up all 5 of my bank accounts .

I can email you a referral link if needed or you can google and find one fairly easy.

Good for people that stay in either of those hotel brands, but not good cards to put everyday spend on. If you're interested in earning hotel points through CCs, Chase Ultimate rewards cards(Ink/CSP) or the Amex SPG cards are probably your best bets.

I just came across a good idea considering my monthly spend isn't that much. Buying/selling tickets. I bought almost $800 in Pelican Playoffs tickets and plan on reselling all but a few of them. Looks to be a great option barring you sell your tickets

You could probably register your AMEX serve account as well.

If I were getting a $450/year credit card I would think long and hard between this one and an Amex Platinum. I fly AA more than any other airline, but still not nearly enough to justify.

As it stands I'm usually on flights where I get offered a 1st class upgrade for around $40, which also comes with free checked bags, negating another advantage to that card. Kinda like buying football tickets from a scalper rather than season tickets.

I have the Delta version of that card and they do not offer the global entry credit.

However I did get my KTN yesterday

ETA: As far a MS goes... Nothing will ever beat the days of buying coins from the US Mint
