You should really look at getting Citi Prestige right now.
$250 airline credit per calendar year. Which means you would get $500 worth of reimbursement before the annual fee hits again.
$100 global entry reimbursement.
Admirals Club access which gives free entry +2 when flying AA/USAir
Priority Pass membership.
50k Thank you points.

I will get this card if offer is at least 50k points this summer.

The airfare reimbursement makes this card an automatic money maker.

After briefly researching, it appears as though you get $1,000 in free swipes for the referral as well (LINK ). I'd certainly like to throw you the bone being you told me about the method.

My board name at gmail.

Plus 3 free rounds of golf every year!

I just called customer service to see about canceling the regular AAdvantage card I was approved for this morning (also 50,000 mile bonus). They said I had to wait until the card came in to close it and start anew. I'm a dummy.

Just wait 8 days and get the other one. With average or better credit, it shouldn't be a problem. The regular AAdvantage Platinum card is a good card to hold. Gets you 10% rewards back on reward flights.

Exactly. With Citi it's 8/65. Apply today and get approved. Wait 8 days and you can apply for another card. Wait 65 days and you can rinse and repeat the cycle.

What would the board reccommend for the best personal cash back card on restaurants? I probably spend 400-500 a month.

How much do you spend on fuel? There might be a couple of cards that do restaurants and gas. Also, can you meet the spend to get the initial bonus because that's where the real points and miles are.

I spend much less on fuel. Maybe 80-100 a month. I already have discover and chase freedom. Just looking to get the best percentage back during the 9 months that those two cards dont offer 5% back on restaurants.

So I imagine you never swipe your own named cards on this thing correct?

My wife didn't and won't change her last name legally so that works for me

I've only used it to swipe gift cards...the $200 Staples variety that have balances left on them. Great for liquidating them.

I would have no problem swiping my card through it though.

What would be your concern?

The only caveat people should be aware of is that anything over $20k in swipes triggers a 1099k. I doubt anybody here is going to swipe over $20k through one account.

Square shutting down my account and not letting me swipe any more, that's all. I like to avoid that sort of thing so I can keep on keeping on.

As you mentioned the $200 Staples variety, instead of driving over to Walmart I can just liquidate them at home.

I do dig that. So let them mail them directly to me and be done.

I'll sign up through your link as we discuss further. No harm no foul to sign up at least.

Gotcha. They do a lot of transactions, so I'm venturing to say that they don't have eyes on transactions and wouldn't have any type of system that compares card swiped to square registered owner. Be a fruitless effort for the most part to track such a thing.

That's the nice part and if you really just want to hit a minimum spend, you can just charge the remaining amount and be done with it. I think it's a 2.75% rate, so it's not good, but good to have the option I suppose.

Square Register App. Each bank account you sign up with you get a free $1k worth of swipes when using referral link from existing customer. If you have 2-3 bank accounts, you can sign them all up and sign your family/friends up if they need help hitting minimum spends.
It's real simple. Order free Square app through link, connect bank account, and swipe card on phone when square reader comes in. Money is in bank account in 2 days. No catch. I signed up all 5 of my bank accounts .

I can email you a referral link if needed or you can google and find one fairly easy.

Hold on, are you saying get Square to swipe your own card you need a minimum spend on into your own account so you're essentially paying yourself?

You do have to pay a fee for that though, right? Still, a good idea if you just need to get the spend if that is what you're saying.

Hmm, this might have better value for me than Amex Platinum since I fly AA pretty often. Besides, I've never gotten the 100k offer anyway from Amex. The lounge and global entry are nice, priority pass as well. I would like to get SPG Gold like you get with the Plat though. What's up with Thank You points? Are they worth it? 50k of those worth how many miles? Kind of a stupid name

I'll need to check the golf but wouldn't surprise me if there's none participating here in Hawaii since courses are so expensive.
