re: Benghazi cliff notes please

What are the errors?

I would also like a timeline from a more "tactical" point of view. Namely, when was help called for, if ever? And when was a response given to those on the ground as to what type of help would come, when it would arrive, and if there was no support to come, why not?

From that linked timeline:

"(8:30 p.m. Benghazi time): U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens steps outside the consulate to say goodbye to a Turkish diplomat. There are no protesters at this time. "

--- The Turkish diplomat left at 7:40 PM Benghazi time, two hours prior to the initial attack, not 8:30 PM. It was a small group of UK military and civilain personnel who left the compound at 8:30 PM.

" At that time, there were three people inside the building: Ambassador Stevens, one of our regional security officers, and Information Management Officer Sean Smith.”

--- While this statement is accurate, it is misleading in the sense that the assistant regional security officer who was with Stevens and Smith inside the main villa at the time of the initial attack was NOT the same DS agent who was with Stevens and Smith in the "safe area" of the villa where both Smith and Stevens succombed to smoke inhalation. This is significant because it represents a delay in the protection process while the "personal protector" presence had to be changed on the fly, under fire.

"The mission annex then came under fire itself at around 6 o’clock in the evening our time, and that continued for about two hours. It was during that time that two additional U.S. personnel were killed and two more were wounded during that ongoing attack.”

---- This is NOT the time period when Doherty and Woods were killed. Doherty was not even at the Annex during that time period. They were killed several hours later, just before dawn Benghazi time.

"we believe that Ambassador Stevens got out of the building and was taken to a hospital in Benghazi."

--- Stevens did not "get out" of the building. His body was found by the second group at the mission compound, curiosity seekers and looters. They took his body out through the window from which Wickland escaped and from which Smith's body was recovered by the Americans agents before retreating to the CIA Annex.
