I really kicked the fire ant mound of Shreveport boomers with this one, sorry y’all couldn’t afford to move out of there

Every decent airport should have outlets galore, a fricking sandwich stand, and a bar. This is 2024.

Go enjoy your weekly visit to Sam’s Town’s buffet tomorrow

Shreveport has all 3. But don't let the truth get in the way of a good time.

And for the Memphis posts, they built a new terminal and it's 100% better. Feels like a completely different airport now.

What do you expect at a small regional airport after all the main flights are gone for the day? SHV isn’t Bush or Hobby. Be thankful you had a place to take refuge from the storms, dickhead.

Karachi Pakistan airport had an interesting security arrangement. The afternoon we were to depart, our agent informed that we would arrive at the airport 30 minutes prior to takeoff, which did not seem right for ticketing, immigration, passport control and security scans. Agent was adamant, he escorted us through at a fast trot and we got on the plane/left. The next night a bomb went off in the first class lounge, where the agent did not allow us to enter.

That was one of my worst airports.

Passed through the Kuwait airport about 3 months after the first Iraq invasion. All rest room drains, kitchen drains etc were nonfunctional, Iraqi's had stolen the pumps. The standard paving throughout was slick marble when dry, when flooded it was worse than black ice.

Yeah I was wondering what the hell somebody would be doing a layover in Shreveport for. It's great for flying in and out of. Especially if you're going private.

Charlotte definitely has a weird layout

Weird, yes.

But you can actually get food or a drink there that isn’t from a vending machine that probably doesn’t even work.

Bro, just walk out the front, and walk down Monkhouse. You'll find cheap booze, food, women, etc. You'll have a good time. It's all right there. You should go get you some.

SHV used to be a busy little airport before Alfred Kahn, Frank Lorenzo, and George (the older one,) put a fricking on the industry. Delta used to fly DC-8s in and out of there. Braniff, American, Republic et al flew real jets in and out of there as well. Had a rocking little lounge in there too.

Alexandria is a shittier city and has a better airport. Sad!
Alexandria also has all of those highway arteries and bypasses with no traffic on them to speak of, ever, when I’ve driven through there. Did someone’s in-law get the concrete contract for that boondoggle or what? Send all that excess to BR, ffs.

IST, for security and check in. The security checks occurred outside the terminal, and I had to prove I could change the time on my mechanical watch, and had to boot my laptop up to prove it wasn't a bomb. Then, it was not India/Pakistan bad getting a boarding pass (I showed up 3 hours early and also missed my flight it took so long.) The security when transferring wasn't all that bad, but people don't leave enough time if they're new.

LHR, the one time I've flow in. Multiple widebodies were arriving in the AM, and *none* of the bathrooms or water fountains in Terminal 5 were functional. Thousands of people, a bunch of toddlers, and 2 hours to get through immigration. Yay.

Newark isn't that bad. The mere mention of LGA instantly causes me to think of Auntie Annie's, because I think that was the only hot food I recall being in the Delta terminal (2010 ish.) But, getting to LGA is worth a good pinch of the nutsack.

The airport in I want to say Santorini was open air. A bunch of sweaty arse Greeks and not one of them own deodorant.

That’s how Honolulu is too. Hot AF all year with barely any AC on that entire island.

When we were kids, my dad would take us there to watch the Braniff jets. I've always had a thing for planes.

Loved the Braniff colors.

There are a couple here in SE Ak that have no terminals, but get B737 service.

Same girls who check you in, load the luggage and push the plane back.
