I have tried some hot sauces using India's famous Bhut Jolokia (ghost peppers) but those are too hot for me.

I really enjoy Louisiana hot sauce (brand) as well as Tabasco sauce. Am I missing any others?

you will get as many answers to this "best" question as a best boudin thread... Best is subjective to your tastes.... I like MANY La based sauces. LA Gold is one I really enjoy.

These two are what I use. A lot of people seem to like Crystal, but it's no different than the Yankee sauce Frank's if you ask me.

Although I am out right now and refuse to pay the premium they charge out here. I'll just go to Walmarks next week and get some of those $.50 bottles.

Like Louisiana not a huge fan of Tabasco. Disagree with you on crystal though. By far my favorite hot sauce. It actually adds flavor instead of just heat. But to each his own.

I used to be a Tobasco man though.

Hot sauce in south LA is like salsa/picante in Texas. There's a bunch and I pretty much like 'em all, but Louisiana seems the most versatile w/out overpowering stuff.

For me its

1. Louisiana
1a.Crystal

2. Lucky Dog Hotsauce:

3. El Yucateco (a variety)

4. Chili Garlic Siracha (MUCH better than the regular cock sauce)
