it's good but there are so many good seasoning out there. Seems like every little meat shop in acadiana is producing their own.

Maybe it's because I grew up on it, but why all the hate for Tony's all the time? It's saltier than most, but it still tastes great. I dont get it.

It's cool to hate Tony's now. You really need to sign up for the newsletter.

Do you know whether it is still cool to put Sriracha on everything?

OP, I have been using SYM for a little while now. It's good.

I went from Tony's to Slap to NuNu's. Slap is a good product but I prefer NuNu's.

I like NuNu's as well. I like Slap as well. Hell I like Konriko Creole Seasoning. It's all good to me. I still like Tony's the most. I use it as salt substitute since it has so much salt in it already.

Another vote for Slap Ya Mama.

I also like Konricko Creole Seasoning in the brown can, for those who prefer more spice and less salt.

I don't hate Tony's but for a long time it really owned the market. Once alternatives with less salt became available I started branching out. I use them the same way I used Tony's, but can use less and have less salt in a dish.

If Tony's has to much salt wouldn't that be the same thing as not enough spice ?

Tony's changed the recipe many years ago to appeal to a broader market. (Yankees)

Next time try Tony's- More Spice.

And don't be hating on Tony Sr he was one of the nicest men I ever knew.

Started with Tony's and used it for several years. It was the reason many of my dishes came out much too salty in those days.

Then I switched to Luzianne seasoning

Now I use Slap ya Mamma, but I still have a can of Tony's in the cabinet. I guess if anyone dropped by they could have it. It's probably as salty as it ever was.

I haven't seen Luzianne seasoning in a long time. Not sure who up here sells it, but my memory is that it had a good flavor. I can't remember the level of saltiness.

I worked a booth just down from Paul Prudhomme at the NRA show three years in a row and used his spices for a few years. As I remember, they could get really hot.

There are lots of good blends out there. I had one once that was nice but seem to have lost the recipe. Maybe I'll look it up and start a FDB fire by posting it. I will say that it is easier to just buy a can than to try to make a blend of your own.

Slap ya momma has replaced Tony's in my kitchen, just as Crystal has replaced Tabasco.

I like SYM OK, I just can't get used to it being made by some Americans in Ville Platte of all places.

I don't use the prepared "Cajun Seasonings", too much salt and it's too easy to make my own batch every 6 months or so.

I remember when i was 10 yo and I didn't like Tabasco, "it's too hot daddy", then I grew up, now Crystal is about as spicy as snoball syrup.
