Just seems like some would offer cornbread or catheads.

Just easier to open that bag and throw a piece on your plate. Also, they are there the BBQ, and I'm sure they are not too concerned with making cornbread and such.

Nah, white bread is where it's at. You can dip it in your sauce , or make a sandwich with brisket. In fact, at all the authentic Texas BBQ joints I've been to, they all have whitebread, pickles, and raw onion slices to accompany.

This. White bread with great BBQ sauce is damn good. If I don't stop myself I'll go through a loaf of white bread and a quart of dreamland sauce in no time.

White bread is typical at most BBQ joints. Haven't ever seen BBQ served w/biscuits....corn muffins might make an appearance if the place skews over to the "country buffet" side of things.

Besides, how are you going to pile a bunch of brisket or pulled pork onto a freakin' corn muffin? It would fall apart at the first bite.

The only reason bread is given in the first place is to provide a vehicle other than your hands to get the meat to your mouth. No reason to waste time, effort, money on anything other than cheap white bread. It also helps that I cannot imagine dipping cornbread into BBQ sauce.

Where I grew up in Tennessee, you were served a loaf of corn light bread with your BBQ.

I guess there is a crossover in demographics, people who buy white bread and people like BBQ. I love BBQ, not fond of white bread.

fresh soft white bread is one of the best things in life, combine this with some melt in your mouth Q and you've got something great going on

I'm gonna guess you think Cool Whip is pretty awesome too? How about Kraft M&C?

Tradition? I hate when a place tries to serve cornbread instead of white bread for jambalaya or BBQ. I'm a white. Gimme my white bread.

I bet if a BBQ joint set a loaf of white bread and a plate full of catheads on the same table, the catheads would disappear first.

It serves as a napkin. Soaks up the excess sauce. It is the only application of white bread that should be allowed. All others should be :
