If Jeryl Brazil plays running back, who do you think he would resemble?

Dexter McCluster or Felix Jones?
I would hope that he would be more like McCluster. It just seemed like McCluster was just so electric and quick. I'm not sure if he has those type of quicks because speed and quickness are to very different things. Jones was more of a speed guy but we all know that McFadden was Arkansas's main threat.

Why are you complaining? We have almost 60 days until the season and nothing else to talk about. Doesn't every fan imagine what impact their new players will have on their team? I don't see where I'm wrong.

Flash Gordan is the easy comparison.

I don't mind off season threads at all, tcc. The comparisons just took me by surprise. Dexter and Felix are two different body types.
I think you misread my tone, and that's my fault.

Brazil would resemble a running back on LSU's bench un-Les LSU completely changes its offense under Miles. I don't see us abandoning the power running game. Brazil would rarely be used. I am totally fine with that as long as LSU can compliment power football with a decent passing attack.

I've never seen Brazil but from what I've read/heard, he sounds like a little taller version of Holliday.
Is that correct? I've read he's insanely fast.

I think he would resemble a Percy Harvin with the ball

I would love seeing LSU with their own version of Darren Sproles, the way the Saints use him. That would be sweet! Probably won't happen, but a man can dream, right?

Brazil is listed at 5-11 185. He will probably play at around 200lbs. Jones is 5-9 215 and McCluster is 5-8 170.
I read that Cam wanted to have a few smaller speed backs to go with the bigger guys. This would be a smart move. Having a change of pace back forces a defense to adjust how fast they get to the whole.

96, does Brazil have Percy Harvin quickness? Harvin and Reggie Bush both had that ability to stop and start quicker than anyone else on the field. It would be sick if Brazil had that type of agility.

quote:That would be awesome right? I would LOVE LSU's offense having a guy like that. It adds a whole new dimension! Hopefully CC can bring a guy or two like that into the program. Even better, maybe there is already a guy like that on the team that has been improperly utilized! Only time will tell.
Harvin and Reggie Bush

Miles is willing to give speed backs carries, but carry proportion seems to go up by how tough you run. If Brazil can play tough enough that he at least consistently moves forward after contact, he will see playing time.
It is a misconception that Miles only favors power RBs, if that were the case Ridley would not have be the leading RB at any time during his senior year, Shep would have stayed as only a backup WR, and Holliday would have stayed as a return weapon. All three of those guys had more physical toughness about their game than their size and strengths might lead you to believe. So even if Shep and Holliday didn't get as many carries as some of us would have liked, a stubborn power game team wouldn't have tried so hard to even get them the limited carries they did get.

Not a chance. "Flash Gordon, quarterback, New York Jets."
