Price/Cuisine?
Saying money is no object in Manhattan doesn't mean the same thing as it does in BR.

You ain't lying. I went to a dinner at Per Se once where the birthday girl had rented out the entire restaurant. I'd love to know how much the total bill was. Well over what I make in one year.

I think this is the best Italian Ive ever had
Sfoglia

Hip lunch or dinner spot, resonably priced. Amazing Lamb burger.

The Breslin

Hit China town for a meal. Find a Dimsum place. We went to a place on Mott but I cant remember the name.

Meatball Shop

Eric Ripert's restaurant, and probably the best in the city
Le Bernardin

Bourdain's Restaurant
Les Halles

And of course a trip to NYC wouldn't be complete with some late night slices.

Go to Fette Sau in Williamsburg for some amazing BBQ and craft beers... short trip across the bridge on the L train will get you there..

And if you're looking for a steak, Peter Luger is the one. Get the slab bacon as a side

Avoid this place. It's a mediocre bistro chain that gained notoriety because of Bourdain. If you want a place like that with good food go to Balthazar.

My favorite pizza was Familia pizza. They have one at times square. But by far my favorite food in NY was at the hot dog vendors. Look for the hotdog vendOrs with the little grill on their cart and get the grilled beef served on a kabob with a hot dog bun. Make sure they put the sauce on it when they grill it. I spent a couple of weeks there and I ate that alot.

I didn't think it was bad or even mediocre, but, yeah it's not on the 'I'm in NYC for a 48 hour whirlwind tour, what should I do?' list. I wouldn't put Balthazar on that list either, though.

Union Square Cafe

Neary's on the other end of town for the best prime rib you'll ever have. Older patrons but the food is great
