Not this guy. After watching his personal demolition of the Gunners last year it is obvious. There is no question that Swagg-Olicious is number two.

I just don't see how this could be argued. Maybe a vote for Xavi, maybe, but on the whole this isn't even a fun discussion.

what do you mean? I don't understand this, if he's the best player in the world, then he's the best, it seems like that's all there is to it.

So who is the best combination of those two criteria? Scweinsteiger? Xavi? Iniesta? Messi is the world's best, by far IMO.

Messi was very good at the World Cup this summer and had nothing to do with Argentina's problems

Their problem was that Germany was better.

The problem was that just about anyone reading this can coach better than Maradona. Argentina's talent alone got them through to the knockout stage.

No Cambiasso or Zanetti. This equals a coke head for a Manager. Maradona is a fricking joke.

Agreed. With Zanetti he could at least use the flimsy excuse that he is old. With Cambiasso, what could he possibly say - that he mistakenly thought Cambiasso was Italian?

Xavi, best in the world?

Messi is probably consistently the best but I think Ronaldo at his best is better. He's just too much of a prick and bitch to consistently live up to his potential.

For the role of final through ball player, Xavi is the best in the world. In barca's system they do not rely on him to play defense. To me, what defensive shortcomings he has are no big deal.

I agree that messi is the best all around player in the world. CR is good, but messi has been more consistent and achieved more imo.

That's the best excuse I have heard yet. Only a genius like Diego would leave off a player in a position of need who starts for the Champions League winners.
