Kind of like when a QB throws a ball 50 yards downfield his completion percentage is going to be much lower but one of those is as good as 10 short passes.

if you want to compare the NFL to soccer, then ask yourself why no teams other than the raiders play long ball anymore

the west coast passing game principles have dominated the NFL since the 90s

But take a player like Xavi off of a team with mega-stars like Villa, Messi etc... and he becomes pretty obsolete

No way. He can slot into any team that plays with three central midfielders quite easily.

Or they can be filler, a jack of all trades and master of none, which is more likely in this game since managers are moving to specialized midfielders.

I meant history as in the past few years of European football. Liverpool would be considered one of the top 10 clubs in European competition the past decade, no?

Considering a decade is composed of ten years, and you've got ten CL winners, then, um, tee hee, yeah.

WTF?

All the fricking English teams take CL cups by default(aka penalties), they merit minimal respect. ManUre really hit the karma jackpot with that pull the innards out of their arse shite against Bayern.

Chelsea had some moments, never got it done, don't give me that bullshite about being robbed, they simply didn't get it done. Scandalous, repeated diving when things aren't going your way is not the way to go.

His technical ability is the epitome of "the beautiful game."

Ktown, you're throwing pearls to the swine.

This guy's idea of the beautiful game is shanking setters into the eighteenth row, an impressively beautiful thing to watch only surpassed by a one man breakaway counter attack (choose your favorite flank), followed by a pissy dribbler into the box which draws a penalty or gobs onto a striker's shin, hip, forearm or quadricep, and limply rolls into the goal behind a flailing keeper prone on his side after selling himself out four seconds early.

This, coming from a fan of the Spanish, is hilarious.
