yes..if you boil your chicken/turkey in pantyhose, the meat wont fall of the bone and be swimming in your pot. works like a charm....we do it with chicken to make chicken salad after boils.

Cover the turkey with water, add some salt and pepper. Then boil it!

I do them in a pressure cooker. Takes about 20 min for a 15 lb bird. Need to wrap it because the meat falls off the bone. Very tender.

And you probably got this from this website because I have been doing this for years. It makes the best chicken salad you will eat. The pantyhose keeps it clean from all the crap in the boil. I just refrigerate and make it the next day.

When making a chicken salad it's best to make it while the meat is still hot.

Never heard of this. guess i didnt recieve the memo. never made chicken salad with anythin but cooled , refrierated chicken preferrably next day cooled refrierated chicken....

I've never made chicken salad with hot chicken, but there was a hot chicken salad casserole my Mom used to make a gazillion years ago. I'd still eat it, today. It had mayo as the binder and sort of puffed a little.

The chicken will absorb more of the flavor of the mayo or whatever you're using to bind it while it's hot.
