Stoop to their level? this dude came to explain to me the technical aspect of a red tide, taking me literally and not in the term known by fisherman across the coast for breaching schools of redfish.

I know fish fighter knows his shite but he counted up this thread trying to act like a fricking prick.

I was not trying to belittle the guy. But when people start using terms of what the think is right, well, it's just wrong. Younger people read this crap in news print or the net and think they know something. Just use the Right term. A school of feeding red fish! Red tide, my butt.

Oh, yes, it is a cool thing to see.

Was fishing one time out of Tiger Pass between there and Tau Phine pass before it all disintegrated. The whole coast it seemed filled up with redfish. We would just drop a jighead over the side and it was on. It was a sight to see.
They were running into the boat

Well young man, you are the first person on this board to ever make me tell some one to screw off. If you were in front of me and told me that, this old man would put you in your place.

Dang, the OB is on edge tonight. I've also heard this referred to as a red tide. Would love to witness one some day.

I have lived several different places along the Gulf Coast and have fished almost all my life. I have encountered schools of redfish in a feeding frenzy before, but I have never heard the term "red tide" used in the manner you describe.
In fact, I initially thought that you might have been involved in a "jubilee," but it definitely doesn't appear that way.
I bet you have a Salt Life t-shirt or perhaps have a Salt Life sticker on your vehicle.
Here, have a downvote to go with it.

Yall are sounding like a bunch of girls. Seriously, why give the OP grief over something so trivial as a technical name of schooling redfish? Do a search on YouTube of redtide and you will find results. So obviously some people refer to schooling redfish as redtide.

I bet I don't....I grew up on a rice farm in Bob Acres, La....I don't need a shirt or a sticker.

Let me ask you a question...
If you heard from a lot of different people who had lived down around Houma all of their lives that the "red tide" was getting thick, would you wanna put your yak in and go paddling around near Cocodrie?

I'm not an idiot. It's all based on context. If someone said, "I got a video of a redtide and it was awesome...there were fish left and right", I would use my brain to deduct that it was a school of red fish.

Disclaimer...I was raised in Houma...so there goes your argument.

I've heard it incorrectly called that too, whome. But honestly I was expecting to see this;
LINK

I have buddies that call thread fun and gizzard shad shiners too. I laugh at them and correct them also.

Fwiw, I have never been in a big busting school of redfish. But I have been in a school of white bass and hybrid striper that literally was a square mile in size. the surface looked like a pot of water at rolling boil. no need to zoom on the camera to try and see the school. If the OP wants to experience that, I would be glad to take him next spring.

Look at the title of the thread.
Look at the content of the OP without clicking on the shitty video.
What context is there?
It could have very well been:
Waited all my life, finally got in a red tide and I don't ever want to experience that again...coughing, sneezing, eyes burning.

It could have gone either way.
I will counter your "YouTube" search for red tide with a Google search. Tell me how many returns you get on Google that indicate schooling redfish?
