re: Things to do in Chattanooga? - deaconjones35
Here is one if you decide to head south to Little River Canyon. [link=(http://www.nps.gov/liri/planyourvisit/marthas-falls.htm)]Martha's Falls Swimming Hole[/link]...

re: Things to do in Chattanooga? - deaconjones35
Aquarium is a must. I was really impressed with it. Besides that and what others posted, if you have the time, research Little Canyon National Preserve. It's about a 45 minute drive south from Chattanooga. Great hiking and scenery. If you head that way, go to Mentone and eat at the Wildflower C...

Some sort of Rosemary baked chicken and sweet taters. Just finished canning some jalapeños from the garden. The hardest part is waiting 4 weeks to eat them. ...

re: Cooking Redfish - deaconjones35
I'll throw one into the mix (for reds on the shell): CASHEW-GARLIC BUTTER: 1 cup salted roasted cashews 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Sauce or other hot pepper sauc...

re: Dularge/Cocodrie in a yak? - deaconjones35
launching at Coco Marina and heading north
There are fish there. I've fished this area more than any just because I have family in Houma. Mainly will find reds and flounder but you can stumble on a few trout especially in winter. Coco only charges 5 bucks to launch a yak and the...

re: Monday Cooking & Drinking - deaconjones35
Just in case you don't know, TigerFred imposed a rule stating that we had to wait until 6pm to start the C&D thread. I haven't seen him around much, so it may not be enforced. Just FYI. Just got to BR from Pcola. Traffic sucked. Not sure what's for dinner, but Mrs Deacon is making a...

re: Thinking about buying a Dremel 4000 - deaconjones35
I have one mainly for sanding tight areas and doing heavy distressing on furniture we build. Also use it to cut nails etc. I underutilize mine big time. Just need to read up on it and see what else I can do with it. Works like a champ for my use now. ...

re: Waited all my life, finally got in a red tide - deaconjones35
I hear you. Look, my whole point is who cares what it's called. The OP was excited about something that happens today and fish jumped him for no reason. I just don't care for people putting others down when they are sharing something they experienced. ...

Left over BBQ from yesterday's poolside blowout for my daughter. She turned 9 yesterday. For all you young chaps out there with little kids, enjoy every single day...the good ones and not so good ones. They grow up fast. About to play some Pedro. :USA:...

re: Waited all my life, finally got in a red tide - deaconjones35
I'm not an idiot. It's all based on context. If someone said, "I got a video of a redtide and it was awesome...there were fish left and right", I would use my brain to deduct that it was a school of red fish. Disclaimer...I was raised in Houma...so there goes your argument....

re: Waited all my life, finally got in a red tide - deaconjones35
Yall are sounding like a bunch of girls. Seriously, why give the OP grief over something so trivial as a technical name of schooling redfish? Do a search on YouTube of redtide and you will find results. So obviously some people refer to schooling redfish as redtide. ...
