What I like about the video is that, even from that distance, you can see the wave being pushed up by the reds. Many many years ago as a young lad, I had the thrill of helping an old fisherman run a trammel net around a school of reds like the one in the video. He keyed on that wave they were pushing up to know where to circle his net. I'm glad those days are over but it was a blast watching it happen. Nothing but arse busting work followed, but the experience was worth it. I don't care about the OP calling it a red tide. He was just sharing something very special and I'm sure he didn't expect to get crucified by the aqua Nazis. Much better video than a true red tide.

I've seen one about 2 years ago in GI. Now I want to see another. The craziest part was reeling them in the black tips would bite them in half when you were pulling them up. Probably 100 sharks in the water tearing through the school.

Glad y'all got on some fish, but nothing I could see in the video showed a red tide. At least compared to other videos I've seen.

I've seen it twice. One time was last week. It would t take 5-10 seconds for my reel to start screaming. It was fun catching them brutes on light tackle. Catch and release until we got tired.

This is what I was expecting to see when I clicked Here let me help you out I've seen it once in real life. Wasn't quite as big as the one above but was still a jaw dropping experience.

Holy fricking frick. That's what I expecting to see too. That's heaven right there.

I've been in a school of Yellowfin before - a couple acres in size with 50-60 pounders sailing out of the water left and right. Thought we were in heaven, but they wouldn't hit whatever our guide gave us to throw. Only 2 hookups, one of which was an "accidental" hook (not in the mouth).

I've got into some Giant schools of Reds off the coast of Grande Isle before, and it was something to behold. Flipping those dudes in as fast as humanly possible. It is a site to behold..

Man, your really being a dick to the guy. He's excited and posted a fish video on the OB.

This is what this board is for. It's really not for guys like you making light of guys because you think you've done more. Too bad your so great at fishing. It takes away the pure excitement that this guy feels.

Thanks for the vid OP. We all enjoy seeing action.

And I've heard it called red tide before. I knew what the OP was referring to even before clicking the thread.

thought the OB could use a few today. The "red tide" has a few people sensitive today. It makes my wife that way once a month.

I've experienced two giant schools of redfish (I'm not touching the red tide debate). Once about 10 years a couple hundred yards off of Elmer's island. I remember thinking if I fell in I might be torn apart by redfish.

The second time was a few years ago while talking a walk down the Gulf State Park Pier. I got a few videos (warning, they are horrible).

Correct terminology? Holy shite BP. You're doing that thing again. Stop. I knew exactly what the op was going to be about. Red tide can only have one meaning?

Like a spinning rod, big duck, or non-typical buck?

I was thinking jubilee based on the title. But I always associated red tide with poor water quality and fish kills like the rest of the scientific world.
