My dad called it a red tide himself, more then 30 years ago
His story was they were camping on Elmer's back in the late 70s. A ride of reds trout and jumbo shrimp were boiling the water. They grabbed a seine and loaded up on the shrimp, mixed in with a few fish. He said you wouldn't see a sole on Elmer's until the weekend came around. The big bait was a Dixie Siren. Old times .....
