Was expecting to see redfish schooling to the surface.

Glad y'all got on some fish, but nothing I could see in the video showed a red tide. At least compared to other videos I've seen.

Hate to tell you, but if you were pulling in fish left to right, you were NOT fishing a red tide. Red tides are dead zones.

That is just a school of trashy red fish. Young people catching one of the easy trash saltwater fish think they did something.

This is what I was expecting to see when I clicked

Here let me help you out

I've seen it once in real life. Wasn't quite as big as the one above but was still a jaw dropping experience.

Omg....go frick yourself bro.....you think we kept em? We just happen to be in a spot of trash red fish and enjoyed the fight.

I appreciate you trying to blast me though....think I did something? You think you the only one who catches fish? Ain't you a spear fisherman? fricking chode. I'm not bragging it was an amazing site being surrounded by breaching schools of fish regardless of species.

This is the outdoor board not the OT

I'm 34, we had dudes in boat next to us with 60 year old men who had never seen it, all night drinking they felt a chapter had been completed in their lives...

so you come here claiming to be in something that you were not in because you don't know the correct terminology. Then explode into vulgarity blasting someone for correcting you.

Lol. Nice.

Red tide is an area of water that Litterally looks red due to dinoflagellets which produce a toxin that filter feeders like oysters consume. Red tides occur in summer months. This the reason you avoid raw oysters in months that don't contain an "r".

hey, fish, no need to stoop to their level.

Huge surface busting schools are rare to be in and pretty freaking awesome to see regardless of species.

Congrats on the experience OP

Guys considering the context in which he was using the term anyone here should know what he is talking about.

I knew what he was referring to and have heard "red tide" used to describe schools of redfish on plenty of occasions.

Thanks BP. I was about to correct him. Red tide is an algae event that sucks all oxygen out of the water.
I believe. If that's not quite right please don't cuss me
