I haven't gutted a deer in years. I do not want the heart or liver. I always cut the tenderloins out when we hang em up.

I don't gut unless we decide to keep the ribs and smoke them at the camp.

The steam that comes from the heart on a cold morning is pretty magical.

THIS! I always watch the heart until all the steam escapes and the spirit of the animal has been completely transformed from Earth walker to its new majestical form. Then I slice the heart in 6 uniform pieces and offer 1 each to the 4 directions, 1 for the Sun, and 1 for myself.

Cut backstrap and hind quarters off and throw the rest in the creek. Coyotes need to eat

I always gutted once I had it hanging and skinned. Then I would quarter it after that. How exactly do you get away with not gutting it?

hang by the neck

skin it out

remove front shoulders

remove neck roast and then back strap

remove hinds

lay down and remove inside loins

place remaining carcass in icechest and go dump it in the woods.
