Took the little guy fishing this weekend. He loved it. Fish were crashing everything they could at the edge of the grass all day. I tied on a blue and white popper and never changed it. caught the biggest one at about 1:30 or 2.

That's awesome and some serious dedication.
I haven't even thought about bringing.my young one out fly fishing with me like that, was going to wait until he's a little older.

And heavier? If you're gonna strap em to your back do it while they're little. When they get older they can have their own little push button rod and reel.

I was finally able to get out of Louisiana and do some coldwater fishing this past weekend. I went to Lower Mountain Fork, and managed to catch about 10 in 2 days. The river has changed a lot even since December after this most recent flood, but the fishing was still good. I was teaching a friend how to fly fish, so my spots were limited because we needed to fit 3 of us within a reasonable distance. After I'd catch a couple in a spot I'd start working with him to try to get him on his first fish on a fly. He hooked up twice but couldn't get one to the net. I'd still strongly recommend LMF to anyone from Louisiana looking for a quicker trip to catch some rainbows.

My Dad and friend weren't too eager to wade across the river to take a pic of any fish, so I only got a shot of one fish

Has anyone fly fished around Interlaken, Switzerland? I'm going to be in Europe this summer and will be in Interlaken for a long weekend. It would be great if I could take a half day to fish somewhere, and I'm thinking this would possibly be the best stop for me to try.

I've been to Interlaken, but I didn't fish. You're not in law school are you?

What rod were you fishing with? Awesome fish by the way and I'm jealous of your spot there

Thanks! It is certainly a sweet spot. That's a BVK 8wt.

I actually just ordered that exact rod. I have an Axiom, but I have heard the BVK has better feel.

Never thrown an axiom so I can't compare the two. I really like that BVK though.

Well I will certainly let you know. Allen products are incredible. The fact that the Kraken is still only $200 is a friggin steal.

Hey guys, figured I would come here and ask instead of starting a new thread. I'm getting into fly fishing and am looking to get a setup that will work for red fish and bass. I know I need an 8 weight, and I am not trying to break the bank. Before dropping 400-600 (if I ever do spend that much idk) I wanted to spend around 250. Is this rod a decent rod for a beginner? Also, is that a good deal? thanks

Hope it stays that way, I need to start building a saltwater setup.
