re: Why does it seem like Lawyers are more valued than Engineers or Scientists - stewie
So, on a contingency, you log or track your work and hours (ex: 0.2 hours writing letter to opposing counsel, 2.5 hours deposing expert witness Dr. Stewie, etc) but you don't "bill" for that time.
If it's a traditional contingency fee contract, I would think not. However, one shou...

re: Why does it seem like Lawyers are more valued than Engineers or Scientists - stewie
Really? So, if I hire you as my attorney and you bill $100.00 a hour, but we agree on a 1/3 contingency fee. I win a $100,000 settlement that you worked 20 hours on. You'd get the $33,000 contingency + $2,000 billable hours?
Billing your hours and accounting your time spent on a ca...
you don't bill time if you're working on a contingency fee, nitwit.
As an attorney, you are still supposed to account for your time...even on contingency fee. What are customary hourly rates for an engineering firm. I'd think attorneys have higher ceilings than engineers on w...

re: Why does it seem like Lawyers are more valued than Engineers or Scientists - stewie
I'm glad I chose Engineering. I have a job lined up with Amazon in Seattle after working at Adobe this past summer. Lawyers are douchy, and will always say they're personalities are better than engineers and about how they pull all the strange. A lot of $30K a year millionaires in that profe...

re: Can you medical field people change out of your nasty scrubs after work? - stewie
I had a roommate in school that wore scrubs out all the time...he was a general studies major. His dad was a dentist, so he felt entitled to wear them out to restaurants, bars, even class. He admitted he used it to pick up dumb women. I think he's now getting an MBA somewhere and probably stil...

re: School me on these so called Tax Free weekends - stewie
As others have said, there's a cap placed on what's tax free. If you are already in the market for something, it might be a good idea to shop and spend this weekend...many box stores will add in deals in addition to the tax free weekend to make it more lucrative. However too many people buy ju...
