I've got a 2014 F150 XLT w/ roughly 78k miles on it, and I'm thinking of trading it in for something else. Mainly, something with less road noise and more ergonomic cabin with some upgrades (LTZ, HC, or SLT variety).

I had a 09 Yukon that rode great but consumed a lot of oil, but that's my only real GM reference.

I love my EcoBoost, and I'm afraid if I go the GM route I'll miss it, but the trade off for a quieter cabin is intriguing to me as I spend a good amount of time in the truck. For those of you that own a Chevy or GMC, how is the acceleration in some of the newer models ('15-'16ish)?

Help. Pls.

I thoroughly enjoy my '11 Sierra and its 18mpg. I've thought about making the switch to the Ford ecoboost but I think I'll drive this truck until the wheels fall off.

I have an 08 GMC Sierra and drove a loaded out 16 Sierra Denali the other day and it was a vault compared to my 08.
Power wise it had the 6.2 and it moved out pretty good.

I've got a 14 chevy and the ride is not great. Once you get up to 65-70 the front seats all shake. It's done it since I took it off the lot. I've had them look into it and always get the same "there's nothing wrong" answer. I've talked to multiple people with chevy's and they say theirs does the same thing. Not sure if it's just the 14's or what but it drives me crazy

I bought a 2013 sierra 1500 new. Has never been in the shop and tows my boat fine. The interior isn't as nice as a ford, but solid truck. 75,000 miles paid off.

2014 Silverado owner here. I have no complaints about my truck it is quiet and much nicer ride than my 2012 F150 company truck. Back seat leg room is less with the silverado than with the F150. We have some ecoboosts in our work fleet, and my 5.3 ecotech gets better gas mileage. I have not had any oil consumption issues that were reported is some earlier versions of the motor, but I do know some people have issues with the AFM, but you can buy a range delete device and do away with the AFM if you so choose. I would go for the GMC because I think they are a better looking truck than the new Silverado's but to each his own.

Reminds me of my Tacoma. I couldn't talk to anyone if I was going over 10 because of the Swamper noise. This was before Bluetooth too

The new GM trucks are fast as hell, and their cabin is like a $100k car

I thought the new F-150's were rated very well for low cabin road noise?

I just went from a 2011 Ecoboost to a 2016 5.0. The ride is incredible compared to the 11. It's like night and day. I will say the 5.0 motor is significantly louder than the Ecoboost. It almost sounds like it has exhaust on it, but it doesn't sound bad. Maybe I'm just not used to the V8 sound after having the Ecoboost. If you haven't test drove the new F-150 you need to go do it.

Did the GM trucks ever make the backseat bigger?

I have a 2013 GMC Sierra that I bought new also. I love it. Never had any problems with it. I would never buy a Ford.

So for those in Sierras, what do you get that a Chevy can't offer?

I had a 14 Silverado Z71 LTZ. Thought I loved it, until some issues came up. Clunky, clunky shifting. Figured out I had to disable the engine braking with the tow haul button every time I got in it. All my rocker panel paint was flaking off in big flakes. Beautiful primer underneath the paint though. Steering started having a bad clunk. Rear end popped while turning tight, had it looked at twice and they said it was normal. Bluetooth would disconnect in the middle of calls. Best thing that happened was it flooding. Had 44,000 miles and was a turd. Now I have a 16 f150 5.0 and it blows away the Chevy. Miss my corner bumper steps though!!!!

% American Made

Buy a Ford and support American workers. Ford F-150 is 85% American content while GM trucks are only 72%. Additionally, all Ford F-150s are made in either Michigan or Missouri whereas a good portion of GM trucks are assembled in Mexico. If you do choose to buy GM, get a truck with a VIN that starts with a 1 and avoid the ones that start with a 3.
