I like the reviews on it, and the price. I just want a .22 to go sit on the back of my buddy's truck and shoot pears out of his tree. I don't think a $300 gun is needed for that

The Marlin model 60 is great for that kind of plinking, small game hunting and keeping pests away from the house. I have no complaints with mine and it is the one gun that everyone in the family can easily shoot. You can't beat it for $150ish.

Ruger 10/22
Marlin 60
Rem 597

All in that extremely affordable price range and lots of fun to shoot

What can you shoot with this type of rifle?

Just about any small furry critter. There are some pretty impressive long range rabbit and prairie dog kills on you tube.

I have a Marlin 60 as well. I like the little gun and it's very accurate, but I like the easy of reloading the 10/22 more and the 10/22 is more accurate now.

And Bayoudude, that Browning is by far my favorite .22 rifle. I wish I had one. I will at some point.

Pretty much small game. Good plinker and practice gun.

I got one for my 10 year old daughter and she loves it.

I kinda like it too.
A lot cheaper to shoot than the AR's

Just got a 10/22 international. Put a leupold vx1 rimfire scope on it, Kidd charging handle/rod/spring and a rubber bolt buffer. Drives tacks at 50 yds. Trigger job to come soon.

synthetic is supposed to be more stable (no warping or swelling from moisture or heat)...but all of my guns have wood and I have never had that problem with any of them either...so pick what you like the best...

I have a Ruger 10/22 with a scope for sale. $175 buys it.

Have a Marlin and a Remington to get rid of too.

i got the wood because i think it looks better... they say synthetic lasts longer, that's personal choice

you can add a scope easily to the marlin 60, the only downfall is its tube-fed, which does take a little longer to reload but if your worth your salt you'll hit the target

If you want bolt action, get Savage FV-SR. I was lobbing rounds from 250 yards out and hitting steel. More accurate than any of my friend's customized-out-the-arse 10/22s

And Stainless will be superior to both I would assume?
