re: Camp Villere Sportsmans Club - dat yat
I didn't think that area had tons of deer, or big ones. I should probably invite my buddy to AR, and get a guest hunt in Camp Villere just to compare places. I already paid for AR, so I'm making that drive another year regardless. ...

re: I've been to hell and back... I also went to Hopedale during my "break". - dat yat
Nice pics, looks like a great couple days. I'm off tomorrow as soon as I land at MSY. Now I'm tempted to head straight home and cross Borgne to the B Marsh. Love hooking reds in the ponds....

Camp Villere Sportsmans Club - dat yat
Has anyone hunted there? A friend of mine is joining and sent me an application because I currently drive 5 hours to deer camp. I kill 3-5 deer a year in AR. What is St Tammany like; tempting because it's 20-30 minutes from my house. What's the deer population like in the Slidell, Pearl River...

Whitney Barbershop is downtown (5th floor?) at St Charles and Gravier. I've also used Alge Haley at Metairie Rd by the tracks. Never been to a barber uptown....

Southern Comfort from Brother's store on Lapalco. Rode up on our BMX bikes, 1979, and they sold it to us 14 year Olds with no questions axed. ...

re: Sunglasses. Costas - dat yat
I just ordered ballast in copper (sunreaders cause I'm 51 and need to tie monofilament), they are supposed to be good for dawn, dusk clod day fishing and for driving. I had ballast in grey; they were awsome but broke. Gonna replace the lenses with blue for full sun. I like the fit of ballast; Br...

Thanks guys, It does seem useless and I'll probably replace with a stereo soon. Music helps when the bite is slow, or when I'm not even fushing...

Boat speedometer - do they ever work well? - dat yat
Third boat; third one with a speedometer that does not register. I could probably clean the pitot hole on the F115, or look for kinks in the tube; but will it even be accurate once it is "working"? I have GPS on the Humminbird, which is probably more accurate. I'm considering ditching the speed...
Foodsaver is plenty good enough for anyone buying groceries in bulk or making their own sausage, or bagging filet.
Yep, for a regular outdoorsman storing his fish and venison, it has worked out well. I like that I can cut the bags to length of the fish or backstrap. ...

re: Demoed some kayaks today (Update: Just bought a used Outback) - dat yat
I have a 12, but 10 footers are ok, too. I know a guy with the Emotion Stealth 10 angler and another with a sit inside 10' from Academy that was less than $300. They both enjoy their kayaks. It is true that they are a bit slower and don't track as well and hold less stuff; but cost, ease of t...

re: Night club shooting in Florida... - dat yat
what type of gun did McVeigh use?
Exactly. Killers are going to find a way to kill. Banning a weapon, or even banning sales to people on the terrorist watch list, will only make them more creative. I don't know the solution but I believe gun restrictions that stop good citizens...

re: Tagged Speckled Trout - dat yat
We caught two limits of reds today and no tagged ones. It's a scam, brah. Yes I'm registered. I just do it to donate to CCA in hope that it helps something. My GPS map showed me well onto green land today, but we were fishing in open water/broken marsh. Our SELA marshland is disappearing in ma...

re: Check Out the Towing Capacity of This Chevy Traverse - dat yat
But whatever your vehicle is rated for is what your max should be just for liability reasons. If your close to weight it might be worth finding a truck stop with a weigh station to find exactly what your tractor and trailer weight are.
Thanks, and good idea. ...
